Daeus Lamb started the topic Introducing GROUPS in the forum Announcements 6 years, 4 months ago
Hey SE people!
We’ve launched a cool new feature on the forum called groups.
You can find them in the nav bar like so:

Groups are hubs for writers to gather around something they share in common. They include a Facebook-like feed and most of them also include their own forums.
So far there are three types of groups:
1. Word war…[Read more] -

Hello Parimis!
I just wanted to gather some thoughts on an idea. Would you guys appreciate having short story competitions once a month again? And if so, would you like to have individual submissions, or would you like to make small groups? (note that this will only be taking place within the guild of Parimi Alca. Maybe every now and then we…[Read more]

Hey, Parimis! I’m currently editing Ashen Blaze...again. There’s a reason I call myself an obsessive editor. Anyway, I have a good reason for this edit—a little something called backstory.
Through the years, my beta-readers have often told me that my book begins very suddenly. Readers get punched in the face with the action, so to speak. I a…[Read more]

Hello Parimis!
I vanished off the face of the earth for a few months, it seems. However, I have officially graduated from school, completed exams, and therefore should be free again, like the old days.
I’m really sorry for the general chaos of me not being around, and not really speaking to anyone at all.
Thank you so much @Jane-Maree for…[Read more]

Ariella Newheart started the topic Character Castle in the forum Parimi Alca Writing Discussions 6 years, 7 months ago
At the center of Parimi Alca, where all biomes and genres converge, a splendid structure stands high on a hill. A remnant of ages past, it has remained untouched from the very foundation of the world. The ancient stonework, a medley of different architecture, most resembles a Victorian castle. Enter through a door of weathered green wood and you…[Read more]

@azeline-d I really liked your poems’ themes! Overall, you had vivid word choices which I appreciate. The second poem had great imagery–especially the first three lines.
In a few places, something that would help us as readers would be changing the word order or playing around with word choice. I’m the thinking of “Are a few of very many/That…[Read more]

Hello, @azeline-d. I am new here and write poetry as a starter. So I will firstly be critiquing and complimenting your work. (Not like I’m not, ’cause I’m on here.)
On the whole, your first poem was very well done and I definitely liked it. One note though would be your last three lines; to some people, they may seem somewhat difficult to read -…[Read more]

Since I think we’ve mostly agreed to go with our previous idea (although @azeline-d‘s thought was very fascinating and one I would enjoy delving deeper into), I went ahead and wrote the first scene, coming up with a bunch of names that you can feel free to change. Personally, at already 969 words, I think it’s too long, but I’ve always been bad at…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>@steward-of-the-pen @azeline-d Ok so I like the idea, but like Steward says, it might take a lot more research than we have time for. We could keep that plot in mind for some future war when we have more time to work with it 🙂 Thanks for jumping in!</p>

@azeline-d Wow, that could be really cool. I feel quite strongly about that subject (as I’m sure a lot of us do), so I’d be pretty open to writing about it. And there’s definitely a lot of potential there. However…it is very, very complicated, and I feel we’d have to spend a lot of time on it trying to get it right. Maybe we could try to go for…[Read more]
