@samuel That’s a really interesting article, thanks for sharing!
I think what the writer meant was that the publishers didn’t count the number of people she was reaching.
What I don’t understand is how publishers can judge your platform if it is your writing. Unless they would count the number of magazines you’ve been published in etc., what…[Read more]

@ericawordsmith @samuel @daeus-lamb @morreafirebird @josiah
Thank you all for the input. (Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond. XP) I think I’ve been able to find a good middle ground (not toning down the content but using less description), but the more “romantic” scenes are something I’m going to focus on in editing to make sure I’m…[Read more]

I thought it was a good movie personally… Mostly because of the music… Music’s good.

Looks like I haven’t read as many books as I thought I had.

@thewirelessblade???!!!! The Greatest Showman??ย WHY????? Haven’t seen it, but I know I’m not going to (the circus just isn’t my thing). After my friend ranted and raved about Zack Efron and Rewrite the Stars, I was actually quite disappointed when I saw his pic and heard the song. If you want a good musical, please go watch Fiddler on the Roof.…[Read more]

Inkling-for-Christ replied to the topic Question about Fan Fictions in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 4 months ago
@thewirelessblade, I have to agree with @samuel here. I don’t think there is anything wrong with fan fiction(ff), in fact, I believe there is some good to it. When I first started writing, (about 7 years ago) I was writing Marvel based fan fiction, and my MC was Hawkeye’s niece and nephew. I believe that ff is actually a good springboard for a…[Read more]

Hi! @nuetrobolt, @evelyn, @r-m-archer, @corkybookworm, @Samuel
Thanks so much!!!
Thorne Warden, I haven’t read any of those books! (Though I keep hearing about Eragon, I saw the movie but I heard the book was a lot better, :D).
Haha, Evelyn (one of my friends really likes the Book Thief too and it is also her favorite, so I won’t judge) and I…[Read more]

Aww, @scribbles, I’m so sorry! She sounds like such an awesome horse! There’s really nothing quite like getting to know a horse well enough that you understand each other.

Hi @samuel!ย Haha, I can totally relate the the cringy writing problem! I’m sure your novels are cool if they include ice breathing dragons, though! (Do they?)
@scribbles, thank you! She is such a good girl, I just love her to pieces! I ride English. She’s actually trained to do hunt seat and saddle seat, but I only do hunt seat (and a bit of…[Read more]

Daeus Lamb replied to the topic More than one theme? in the forum Themes 8 years, 4 months ago
@samuel Yes. Basically, the more complex your novel, the more themes you can have in it.
Any novel you pick up will have multiple themes. When we talk about a story’s theme though, we generally mean its main theme. A novel generally has one main theme. On some occasions it will have two or three main themes, but this is not common. You can have…[Read more]

@Samuel Oo, that would be awesome!!! Have you ever read… I was going to name a book where the mentor goes semi-evilish, but that would be a big spoiler for that book. ๐ The mentor in my WIP does kind of abandon the heroes, but not for long. @samuelย Pokemon was animated and voiced in Japan first, then dubbed in the US by 4Kids, so, it’s more of an anime than Avatar, which was Western animated with Eastern inspiration, making it Amerime.ย I don’t play the card game/video games.ย And I’m an original Ash, Brock, and Misty fan.
I’m not saying it’s the best anime ever, but it’s still an…[Read more] - Load More
