I see what you mean now, and I agree.
As for poetry, I work most in free verse and set forms (even though they require math. ;)) Ah, visual poetry is amazing. Have you tried blackout poetry?

@myclipboardismyviolin Here’s my really quick answer.
Step one. Build a large email list. Why? Because it will help you sell 1,000+ books with the click of a button. It will also give you the opportunity to…
Step #2: cross-promote(!!!) with other people who have similar audiences. Which in turn will lead to more sales which will allow you…[Read more]

Ooh! Screen Door! I’d managed to forget that one, but YES! I love that one, too!
*nods* I actually prefer the “unfinished” tracks that Rich Mullins sang himself to the “polished” versions that other artists did. They just felt like they needed to be his songs, if that makes sense? I liked most of the…[Read more]

@pursuewisdom Well, most of what I write is action and adventure, so that’s better than I hoped. 😀
@serenity Thanks. I was wondering about the comment part. I’ll have to work on that.
@myclipboardismyviolin Hmm. Neat idea. The fact that I currently have three stories in one book could make that quite the juggling act, so I think I’ll at…[Read more]

I really like @myclipboardismyviolin‘s suggestion. I would choose one story/genre to focus on with this ad, add a short, punchy 1-3 sentence pitch between the title and “get your free book” button, and sell us on that story (and just that story). I’d then cut the pitches for each story at the bottom of the page since I think that’s distracting,…[Read more]

Don’t look at me, I dislike CCM in general myself. *trips over collection of rock and metal on the way out the door* I was thinking of Skillet and Red, Christian musicians who actually put thought into their work instead of using “Christian” as an excuse for poor quality. Oh, throw TobyMac and Mandisa on that list too…anyway, but not…[Read more]

WAIT A MINUTE Y’ALL HAVE HEARD OF RICH MULLINS???? 😀 😀 😀 I grew up on his music! “My Deliverer” is awesome. I also love “What Trouble Are Giants,” “Where You Are,” “Maker of Noses,” “Elijah”… basically everything he’s written. But “My Deliverer” and “What Trouble Are Giants” are probably my top two. My…[Read more]

RIP Rich Mullins. He was/is the best. I particularly like “My Deliverer” and “Rock of My Salvation” sung by him.
Okay, I’m not actually learning violin. It’s an analogy having to do with Lindsey Stirling and in her videos about her violin and how it’s the answer to everything. I mentioned that on my intro thread. In two months I may just give…[Read more]

HOWARD SHORE AND JOHN POWELL!!!!!!!!!! Love those guys!!!!!!!!! *Shivers*
Yes, I agree. I have a ton of music that just “fits” certain scenes. Thy Will is one that for some reason has been helpful to me, and a few instrumental songs from Transiberian Orchestra.
For fantasy I generally use Howard Shore, John Powell, Narnia…[Read more]

@myclipboardismyviolin Ah, well. I guess I would agree to an extent. Even though I dislike CCM music, there are some really good poets and songwriters that I listen to. (:
What kind of poetry do you like to write?
@kristinbradley My favorite poets would be J.R.R. Tolkien, Emily Dickenson, and Shel Shilverstien. Of the first, I mainly appreciate…[Read more]

Today’s topic is about why you should talk about writing with your local friends and was written by Brandon Miller!
Even though I don’t fit in with the introverted, agoraphobic, germaphobic writer stereotype (see Alex Rover from “Nim’s Island”), I have to agree with them on one thing: People can be scary. That said, people can also be good fri…[Read more]

@myclipboardismyviolin I added a little bit, and also changed some of the numbering based on Christiana’s suggestions. I know you mentioned that you wanted it to end with a gospel message. I’m not quite sure how to build that in, but do you want most of the options to end in the MC dying? (It’s not hard to see how most of these could end like…[Read more]
