Chloe covered her mouth with her hands. The bear grunted. Birds flapped through the air. The elephant swung its trunk, as frogs hopped around, with a bald eagle gliding through the sky above. A venomous black serpent wrapped itself around Nicholas’s arm.
“What a surprise!” Nicholas laughed. “You’re so awed, but this is merely a little of my col…[Read more]

@kayla-skywriter and @anne-of-lothlorien Hi! Sure, yes of course.
The scene in question is one of my main characters explaining her tragic backstory.
This is one of the first real emotional scenes I’ve written for the book, and I’m a bit unsure of myself 🙂
What, to you, makes a good emotional scene?

@i-david Thanks! I’m not good at this kind of writing, but it was fun to write.

@anne-of-lothlorien thank you for explaining. I agree that it can be taken too far. As with all things, categorizing human behaviors is a delicate and risky business that must be done with caution. It should never be done without remembering that all people are unique individuals created in the image of God, and thus cannot be fully understood.…[Read more]

@e_elaine_soup5 I loved the first and third ones you did!!

@edmund-lloyd-fletcher I just find it fasinating. All of it, both temperaments and MBTI are some of my favorite things. But, I agree. Neither are infalible. Every person is unique, and should be treated as such, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t similar to other people in a way that can be catigorised. God created an orderly world, and while we…[Read more]

Man, yikes… That is hard. It was really neat to get to hear his story at the conference (especially because I know you). I know that a lot of people there were praying, have been praying, and were encouraging others to keep on praying for the Wesco family.

@evelyn I have a lot of hidden references throughout the story. (Like Brandon really does go on about getting fired behind the scenes, and I actually do show my fellow staffers the food I bake in a FB group chat—and of course they can’t eat it. 😛)
@ashira I think Josiah would agree. 😆

So, I haven’t been on the main forum too much yet, but I thought it would be fun to have a thread for people who are entering the SE short story contest (or other Emberlings who are up for some reading and critiquing). That’s hilarious, and somehow I can see that. XD It’s pretty hard to find ENFPs in Middle Earth actually… Mostly INFPs. Arwen and Frodo are INFP (although Arwen’s a little more extroverted). I want to figure out Luthien’s personality though, all I could find for her was INFP or ENFP. I wonder…
