thats a great one!
I may choose to answer your second question before the first.
Many Christian authors and readers will rush to say “no!”
I would agree with them, but I shall give more of a theory and a solid logical argument, and not just sentiment. From a biblical standpoint, I see no place for cussing in Christian lifestyle, let…[Read more]

@r-m-archer Hello my fellow Calvinist!! (I promise this has nothing to do with politics or religion so please don’t ditch me yet) I saw in a past post that you use Mail chimp for your newsletter and I was wondering if you could answer some questions about it. I’m wanting to start a newsletter but I don’t know what I’m doing whatsoever. I was…[Read more]

@erynne Ooh, a fellow Calvinist! Hi! (I wouldn’t have been disappointed if it were, honestly. XD I enjoy theological discussions, at least.)
Sure! I’ve found MailChimp pretty simple to use for a simple beginning list. Recently I’ve been trying to create more sub-lists and more complicated email sequences, and that’s been harder to work through.…[Read more]-
Haha, same. I tell people that if I were in public school I wouldn’t have any friends because I enjoy discussing those subjects more than the latest tv shows or whatever. XD
Anyhow, thanks for responding! I don’t plan on getting 2,000 subscribers (or anything close to that) so I think I’ll try it out! What exactly is your newsletter for? Also,…[Read more] -
@erynne If I were in public school I’d get kicked out because of what I believe on those subjects. XD
Awesome! I hope it works for you! 🙂
Currently, I use mine to send blog updates (oh, which means I need to get one out for today’s post) and some writing updates, plus any new resources I create for my blog’s writing resource library or preview…[Read more]

Sorry for the late reply, I was out (I did NOT get my phone taken away so don’t even think I did….) Could I sign up for the mini email course?? 😁 world building is not my thing at the moment lol

Ok great! I will do that as soon as I finish this. Marketing is something I definitely need to work on myself. I’m hoping to take some online college courses for business and marketing. You seem to be kinda popular with your blog and everything XD Do you have any published books??

Anyone else have suggestions for my question?
Here’s my post:
Ok I gotta question. What’s some creative ways to show mourning over a death?
I’ve never been one to show my pain to people, so I’m a very, um, weird I guess, mourner. I don’t cry or anything, I didn’t even cry at my own father’s funeral. So yeah, I don’t really know how to write it…[Read more]

ConvertKit is a good newsletter service you might like! I’ve personally decided to go with MailChimp, but I have a few friends who use ConvertKit for their newsletters, and it works great for them.
I personally enjoy it when bloggers share short stories through newsletters. You could always have that as a little bonus at the end…[Read more]

I’m actually reading the old Thrawn trilogy now! I’m partway through the final book and have really enjoyed…[Read more]

On this example… why not? If they chose to focus on scientific advancement ahead of military advancement, I don’t see why this is unreasonable? If you want swords and electricity, I say go for it.
Yeah, there are definitely reasons why that could happen, but if you’re going into a story with the expectation of it being med…[Read more]

Yesss. This habit is so annoying.
Exactly! Though, the opposite is also annoying XD Changing something dramatically without thinking through it and just accepting that stuff is like that.
And dramatic anachronism with no explanation. People are using swords but you have electricity?? Howww?? Or, you’re obviously pre-industrial…[Read more]

Thank you for your input! I agree with everything you said. I’m also quite conservative, and I know there’s others out there but it’s hard to find those who aren’t scared to admit what they stand for.

I want to be able to read a story where a woman embraces being female without having to resort to belittling a male or besting a male in the process.
I agree with you here. I often see the problem of fantasy where authors find it a necessity to assume that the problems of this world are directly transferred…[Read more]

I absolutely agree!!! Thank you for pointing out my mistake. At that moment my mind was focused on my belief that the woman’s main priority should be in the home rather than focusing on a job or trying to prove women’s equality to men, as Jo was. I absolutely agree with you though. 🙂

Those sound like interesting reads. I also like to read nonfiction to inspire new story ideas; and yes, some classics really get you to think. Have you ever read Jane Eyre or A Separate Peace? (The latter has some choice words, from what I remember, but other than that, it really made you think.)
