They walked for miles suffering the miserable heat.

“How long is it until we reach wherever?” Julian asked

“Yes, let’s.” Ellie said.

Finn went forward so he was in the lead, and the others followed

Finn put his arm around his own sister realizing quickly that K’Nika wasn’t as lucky as he was.

Ellie walked over to K’Nika and placed her hand on her arm, “I may not be a sister, but I’m still your friend.”

The sun was already beating down, “Whew, it’s a hot day for this time of year,” Julian said wiping his forehead.
