    @erynne

    Hi, Erynne! Been busy this week and haven’t been on the forum.

    I’m happy you’re starting writing while you’re still young. Still in high school, huh?! So happy that is many years behind me. It wasn’t a great experience. I am grateful for all my experiences, though, for they’ve made me the person I am today. Far from perfect, but most…[Read more]

    Good morning, Katylin! Hope you’ve been having a good week.

    I set my story in the fictional town of Pineville, near the foothills of the mountains. I was originally thinking of calling the book Kate’s Journey, but there’s another book with the same title. The books aren’t anything alike, though. I suppose it doesn’t matter that…[Read more]

    Khylie, thanks for posting the link to your article. I may be much, much older than your target audience, but I found quite a bit to apply to my life. Thanks again!

    Keep writing! The devil wants to stop us from getting our messages out to the world. I’m sure you have a great message to share, so don’t let him keep you from doing that.

    @ladyelizabeth

    Hi, Elizabeth! I’m Betty and it’s nice to meet you. I’m working on my first novel, a western historical romance set in the 1870s. In the process of getting quotes for a developmental edit. I plan to go the traditional publishing route, if possible.

    It was nice to find a community of fellow believers to share with about writing.…[Read more]

      Hello Betty!
      Apologies for taking so long to reply! It is so nice to meet you as well! I really enjoy historical novels and yours sounds like something I would love! That is so great that you are planning to go the traditional route. I have not yet thought about publishing, but it would be amazing if that would ever happen.

      I am…[Read more]

    @kaytlin-phillips

    Welcome, Kaytlin. Nice to meet you. I wish you the best on your writing career. It’s good you’re starting at a young age. I was a late-bloomer: 65 when I first started writing. I never had a burning desire to write, but one day I decided that’s what I wanted to do. I’ve finished drafts and just submitted requests for quotes on a…[Read more]

    @obrian-of-the-surface-world

    I’d forgotten the scriptures about being a peculiar people. Good thought!

    I’m sorry about losing your mother. Losing your parents is tough. It does get a little easier as time passes.

    I’d say if you want to try your hand at writing romance, go for it! Most of my reading is action/adventure. I don’t want to write…[Read more]

    Erynne, thanks for letting me know about how to tag. I wasn’t aware of that.

    I’ve requested quotes for a developmental edit for my manuscripts. Heard back from one already; waiting for the other quotes.

    You mentioned school and finals. What are you studying? I’m studying web development and painting with Udemy classes. Keeps this old brain…[Read more]

    Hi, Erynne. Nice to meet you! I’m a bit on the nutty side myself, so I should fit in well.

    My favorite romance is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I’ve read it several times. I also enjoyed the Texas Legacy series by DiAnn Mills. I’ve enjoyed every DiAnn Mills book I’ve read. They’re not romances, but I love the Bregdan Chronicles by Ginny Dye.…[Read more]

    Kate’s my favorite character. I put a lot of myself into her – the stubbornness and independent spirit. I used to have a strong fear of commitment, but then I met my husband! Same as Kate. I enjoyed getting my ideas down into the manuscript.

  • Good morning, all! I’m writing a western historical romance, currently on my third revision. My working title is Finding Her True Love, but I’m not sold on it. It’s about a 1870’s Boston socialite, Kate MacGregor, who runs away to escape a forced marriage. She ends up in a small town in the New Mexico Territory, where she faces danger and…[Read more]
