@gabriellepollack I’m also mostly on pinterest for fun, but I’d love to see a SE board! I’d be one to enjoy writing prompts and character inspiration. Just my two-cents worth. 🙂

November 2, 2018 at 11:04 am in reply to: A/n INTJ, History Buff, Narnian, & Team Cap! 🙂 ~Me #57664@pursuewisdom I’m totally fine with questions. I love talking about myself! *flips hair* *blushes in embarrassment at how awful that sounds* I’m really not a total jerk, I promise!
Also @evelyn. Guys, huge Narnia fan here! I love them all, but my favorite is and will always be Prince Caspian. I just love it!!!! I get what you mean about needing more from the Golden Age, though. That would be awesome.
And yeah, I saw how many times you’ve seen Les Mis. I’m jealous actually. I don’t own it, so I’ve only seen it twice while at a friend’s house.

Minus of course the few things I’ve never heard of, but I’m sure I’d love them too if I had. I am a huge Les Mis fan. I just listened to the soundtrack all the way through on Monday(for the 87th time) and I’ve been singing “Empty Chairs and Empty Tables” all week(much to my family’s annoyance).
I’m not too active on the “everyone” forums, I usually stick within my guild(New Wessex is the best by the way), so you probably won’t see too much of me unless you end up in there, but I’ll try and be a little more “out there” as well. Welcome to SE!
(I just realized how intimidating my first paragraph sounded. Sorry.)

Friends?

@eden-anderson @literatureforthelight @chalice Greetings, fellow Saxons! And yes, we are definitely the best guild! All the amazing relationships are just, well… amazing! Not to mention the awesome tips and encouragement I’ve gotten even only being in New Wessex for a couple of months.
And, goodness, there are a lot of questions to respond to. I have so many favorite books, I don’t know if I can choose, but pretty much anything C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, or Jane Austin. I like the Mobile Bay Chronicles, too, but I haven’t read much else by the author and I can’t come up with her name off the top of my head.
Soundtracks? LOTR, StarWars, and(can get an “amen”?) Les Miserables.

@selah-chelyah I don’t see a message from you. Are you sure you got the right Alana Ward? My profile pic is a butterfly and I only have like three boards, mostly boring ones.

@selah-chelyah I generally write fantasy or realistic(but not historical) fiction. I’m pretty frequent on SE, but I mostly post within my guild. I’ll work on being more active on the other Forums as well.

@mark-kamibaya Welcome! Yeah, I’m boring and busy, but I figured I should say hi. 🙂

@scarletimmortalized Absolutely write it! I am a HUGE fan of Civil War era historical fiction, and YA is definitely what I would read. I also would have to agree that stereotypical “Southern Belle, Union Soldier” romances are highly overrated, however I’m the kind of gal who loves a book with romance, even if it’s a side plot or background detail. It sounds like you could really make this awesome!

I haven’t really thought about using it for writing purposes. Mostly I just look up bulletin board ideas or fashion when I’m bored. I’m Alana Ward on there I think, but I haven been one there much since I got an account a few months ago.

You know you’re a writer when…
You’re sitting at the dinner table with your family, but you’ve entirely zoned out of the conversation to work through a frenzied mob scene in your head until your mom suddenly taps your arm and says, “Hey, are you ok? You look really, really angry.” Well, I guess I have some facial expressions down.

@millenium-m I will keep that in mind. 🙂 I’ll check under a few waterfalls, and maybe the pet store. If you happen to meet another one, would you mention me?

Oh and Hi, @millenium-m !!!! I’m currently working on securing a pet dragon, any idea where the best places are to find them?

@seekjustice Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the Broadway version, but I fell in love with the original Disney version when I was little, and the live action one is pretty good too. In Beauty and the Beast, my favorite character is definitely Bell, and favorite song would have to be “Something There”. For Les Mis, I Love Marius, but you’re supposed to, so I guess that’s not all that surprising. My favorite song from that one is probably “On My Own” or “A Little Fall of Rain” I just identify with Eponine, you know?

@seekjustice I can’t believe I didn’t mention musicals! I have a hard time coming up with answers on the spot. Les Miz is one of my new found obsessions, but I’ve always loved Music Man, Cinderella(the Rodgers and Hammerstein version), and Beauty and the Beast.

@scribbles Thanks. I often use inspiration from real world history and combine cultures and events to make a new country or group of countries in a made up world, or a fictional country in the real world.
