@chalice@kb-writer, That’s a tough question, but I think I’m with @eden-anderson. New Wessex is pretty awesome. I think I can safely say it’s the best guild I’ve ever been in. 😉 Yeah, everything Eden said.
@the-fledgling-artist, Camp Artifex is pretty great. 🙂 We’ve had some wonderful discussions and everyone is really encouraging.
@evelyn, I agree! <3 *narrows eyes at your comment. Draws sword.* A day may come when the courage of New Wessex fails, when we forsake our drafts and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day! This day we write! 😉
@selah-chelyah, Haha, @noahlitle and I have done the same thing with each other. 😀 I’m guessing you and @ashira are sisters? Wow, I admit your guild sounds pretty awesome!ENFP-T/Artist/Writer/Musician

@literatureforthelightThe elusive members of the Saxon Scribes continue to meet in a great hall with whistling wind and flickering firelight, finding ways to redeem literature in the name of our Lord Jesus. They plan to stop the evil forces of Melkor by remembering that even if they speak in the tongues of angels, without love they are nothing.
(We really need to start that thread up again, guys. xD)
These scribes sit in personalized chairs, share their stories, and draw strength from one another. Never mind what another guild might shout from the rooftops or proclaim in the streets…
New Wessex will prevail.
😉

@cassie-hartfinh@literatureforthelight @ariella-newheart @selah-chelyah @ashira @chalice @everyone-else The funny thing is I’m writing all of these noble and fearless proclamations as I’m listening to the soundtrack of Beyond the Mask. It makes everything sound so much more epic.

@chalice(We really need to start that thread up again, guys. xD)
Yes we do!!
@cassie-hartfinh, That soundtrack is awesome! I love listening to soundtracks while I write. What other soundtracks do you like?To answer to your getting-to-know-you questions: My favorite books are: “Water Walker”, by Ted Dekker, “Piercing the Darkness”, by Frank Peretti, and *ahem* “The Velveteen Rabbit”, which still makes me cry. A few of my favorite Christian artists are: Phil Keaggy, for KING & COUNTRY, Leeland, and Citizen Way. I really like TobyMac too. 🙂
@ariella-newheart, I’ve only read the first book in the Ilyon Chronicles series. Have you read all of them? I’m just curious, have you ever entered one of Jaye L. Knight’s fan art contests? Your profile picture looks really nice, by the way. 🙂ENFP-T/Artist/Writer/Musician

@cassie-hartfinh@chalice I love the soundtracks from: *takes huge breath* Pride and Prejudice, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Polar Express, Annie (2014 version), The Prince of Egypt, Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Jonah a VeggieTales Movie. And I’ll probably come to like more as I discover them.
Hold up. YOU LIKE FRANK PERETTI???!!! I absolutely LOVE Frank Peretti!!! His books are SO GOOD!!! This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness are two of my favorites by him. I also love Prophet, The Cooper Kids Adventure Series, Hangman’s Curse, I could go on!!

@selah-chelyah@chalice Yes, we are sisters! :_ And Meraki is the BEST!!! Have you ever seen the movie, “Beyond the Mask”?
@cassie-hartfinh Haha! Glad it is working. 🙂 I have been listening to it while I write the last several days since I ordered it! My 9/11 scenes only get more intense… Whew! And ah! I love the soundtracks to the Pirates of the Caribbean, The Prince of Egypt, and Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron as well! Some of my favorites ever!

@selah-chelyah@kb-writer Ah, divisions among the Emberlings?! Endless war?! Oh no, we will make up, even if we always retain faith in our own guilds…. 🙂

@evelyn*laughs*
Ha!
Your ignorance of Parimi Alca clouds your judgement. The day you dread will come faster than you think and on that day you shall see the power of the “Written World of Light” shine before your eyes!
*smiles calmly and draws sword* You will rue the day you met me!
(Actually, I hope not. 🙂 Hey you’re in two guilds? A writing and an art one! Isn’t that cool!)
October 28, 2018 at 12:14 pm #55835Chalice
@chalice@cassie-hartfinh, Oh, I really like The Prince of Egypt soundtrack. Some of my favorites are: The Man from Snowy River; The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Master and Commander; The Secret Life of Walter Mitty; and Saving Mr. Banks.
Yes, I’ve only read a couple of his books though. (This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness.) And I started Prophet. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to finish it sometime soon. 🙂
@selah-chelyah, Yes! I have seen Beyond the Mask! It’s a great movie. We actually have some good friends who played as extras in that movie. 🙂
@evelyn, *stammers for words, puts down sword* Cupcake?(I seriously couldn’t think of anything to parry your comment. XD Yeah, being in two guild is pretty cool 🙂 . Do you do any art? Play any instruments?)

@ashira@chalice Yeah, Selah is my older sister. I forgot to sign out and she commented thinking she was signed in. 😛
I love the Prince of Egypt soundtrack! Do you like the songs from King of Dreams?
Oh, yeah! Beyond the Mask is the BEST!! How cool your friends got to play as extras!

@rosemarylouise@eden-anderson @literatureforthelight @chalice Greetings, fellow Saxons! And yes, we are definitely the best guild! All the amazing relationships are just, well… amazing! Not to mention the awesome tips and encouragement I’ve gotten even only being in New Wessex for a couple of months.
And, goodness, there are a lot of questions to respond to. I have so many favorite books, I don’t know if I can choose, but pretty much anything C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, or Jane Austin. I like the Mobile Bay Chronicles, too, but I haven’t read much else by the author and I can’t come up with her name off the top of my head.
Soundtracks? LOTR, StarWars, and(can get an “amen”?) Les Miserables.
E/INFP-T To truly understand, you must have experience. I neither understand, nor have experience.

@chalice@ashira, Haha, 😛 Are you in the guild yet?
I haven’t heard any songs from King of Dreams (or seen the movie). Are they good?
Yes, Beyond the Mask is awesome! I saw your forum signature and was immediately like, “I know that’s from!!”
@rosemarylouise, greetings! Oh, yes. I forgot about C. S. Lewis. I love his books!-

@scribblesHow has no one from Rillumen piped up in this discussion?! @wordsmith Your inspirational speeches are needed here. 😀
We have by far the coolest symbolism (see our fabulous guild page), based around the name our fabulous guildmaster @brandon-miller created, which loosely means River of Light.
Lumenites are known for being insatiable encouragers, honest and kind when we critique, and unwilling to let anyone feel alone in the darkness. We carry buckets of our luminescent water with us wherever we go, and we aren’t afraid to share it.
And (as if things couldn’t get any better) we also have an honored squirrel mascot named Bri, whom you can see perched in the tree overhanging our bright stream.
Thus, I say the conclusion is clear…there is much evidence to suggest that Rillumen is the best guild. 😉

@eden-anderson*plays along*
DID YOU JUST CALL ME A LIER?!!! *evil laughter* You cannot frighten me. Your threats mean nothing…it is you who speaks lies!
NEW WESSEX WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wondered if you had left. I didn’t even know you were aloud to do that! WHY DID YOU SWITCH???????
Awesome come-back! (Aragon and Chalice for the win! 😀😀😀 *High Five*)
(I LOVE the Velveteen Rabbit too! 😍 )
@grace @rosemarylouise
Thank you guys, you do a much better job at defending New Wessex than I do. 😀 (@rosemarylouise Here’s a resounding A-MEN to the awesome Les Mis soundtrack!!!)
@cassie-hartfinh and the other random people on this threadThis is turning into such an awesome thread!! Popcorn?! Books?! Music?! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
*settles back to enjoy the show*
Here’s to answer the questions:
Favorite books: LOTR, The Scarlet Pimpernel, David Copperfield, Fierce Convictions…and many others. (Cassie, you like the Penderwicks, too!! Arn’t they such fun books! 😀)
Musical Artists: Andrew Peterson, Owl City, Cory Asbury, Casting Crowns, Benjamin Brainerd, Audrey Assad, and on and on it goes. There are so many artists and songs I like that I would be here for a long time…and yes, I have a very random list of favorites. 😛 (Don’t get me started on classical composers.)
AND NOW WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SOUNDTRACKS…
*heaves a sigh of contentment* I have found my kindred spirits. 😀
