Alas! But that is one of the great ways of constructing anything of the poetical type! Keep chugging for the finish line! Don’t give up before you reach the edge of the pond! Leave the past and look to the future! Etc. Tec. Cte. Ect. Tce. Cet. …That’s right. Etc. How is the collage going? Difficult? Or time consuming and…[Read more]

Gee, thanks! It came upon a burst of rain and swirling currents…Ohhh, that’s a hard question. I think right now, it would be William Wordsworth. But I also like Frost, Shakespeare, and a whole host of others that my Mom read to me when I was little.

@emma-starr Aw, that poem was so sad… I started reading intending to have a good laugh, but my heart ended up sobbing with poor George….not that that’s a bad thing, though – it’s such a sweet little poem ๐ I love it, Emma <3 It’s been forever since we’ve talked, but I’m so glad you tagged me.ย I’ve been inactive on SE for too long…[Read more]

That one’s nice; I like the simile and the freeness of thought.
Maybe, cool. But really, it could mean this: When you’re thinking, your mind goes off into rabbit trails and you think of ideas and it’s all a jumble. Then…light bulb.

@k-a-grey, well not really. I’ve never thought of that. I wanted a three name pen-name so I could write it like N.D.Wilson and C.S.Lewis and J.R.R.Tolkien and such but I also wanted my real first name in there too. So I did that. O.W.Holmes. W.O.Holmes. Two and similar. Oh well…
Yes, that describes them pretty well. Also, the bronze treasures…[Read more]

@k-a-grey – Just an informal challenge considering that I don’t exactly have a prize and if I did, I wouldn’t have any way of giving it out. But if you would wish for a time limit, I would be all the more supportive in that motive. How’s this:
Within the limpid water, glows
A light that blossoms, ever grows.

This thread has slowed down a lot but here’s something I wrote recently making fun of poets, which was fun to do. (:
CHEESE
A wise man once announcedย
His newest deduction:
A lack of cheese in the poetry section,
A statement that promptly led
To a gold rush excursion
Of eager young wordsmiths mining
For a satisfying conclusion.

@k-a-grey: Thank you! And thanks for the tip- I’ll try re-writing that prologue with some stronger images.
@kayla-skywriter: Yes, I’d love to read it! I’ve always wanted to write my own STORY about abortion, but seems I can only write fiction stories and poems come more naturally for this stuff. So… yeah- please!
