@ethryndal Ooh, that’s a really good point. That’s one of those things that I know but I don’t always remember to put into practice. Thanks for the reminder.

So I’m looking for ways to improve on my manga/cartoon drawings! Here is a sampling:

(Most of these are Aetherlight pictures.)
I have noticed that my heads tend to be too big, and I need to work on my three-quarter view and side view proportions. Any and all critiques and comments are welcome! Thanks! 😉

@snapper @lady-illiara @emma-starr @ethryndal @kayla-joy and anyone else who does art.
Hi! I like drawing animals, landscapes, and maybe people… I tend to do better with shading and all that when I don’t actually have to color them in too, but digital art is harder for me. I did one decent picture (which I need to do more with the shading on t…[Read more]

Please pray for a friend. His name is Samuel, and he works in the tree trimming business. Yesterday he fell 60 feet out of a tree, resulting in multiple rib fractures, a minor spinal fracture, and two minor temporal fractures. His spleen is also lacerated. Thankfully he doesn’t have a concussion, and he’s in stable condition, but they’re keeping…[Read more]

In the interest of saving the world, I’m going to try to answer @r-m-archer and @ethryndal‘s question today.
The question is basically: how do I fix the problem of having a character I feel like I understand well that’s coming across as flat.
Now, this is one of those questions that’s tricky. There could be a lot of answers and I don’t know…[Read more]

(This might make a duplicate, in which case I apologize, but I think I accidentally deleted the original trying to edit it to get a tag right. XP)
My main character makes a lot of bad choices as part of her arc (negative and then recovering from that negative arc) and I have two themes that I want to emphasize: 1) People need people. 2) Bad…[Read more]

Well at least you spelled both my real AND my tag name right, so that’s more than most people can accomplish. 😉
I can’t speak for all INTJs here, but as a general rule, I don’t see why we’d care. We’re not terribly sensitive or easily offended sorts, and typically don’t overthink things, so I’d imagine that something like this would hit us more…[Read more]

I don’t like bringing back characters from the dead. Either they die or they don’t.
BUT, I might need to pull a resurrection off.
(Warning: This post is gonna be long. Sorry.)
You see, I have a new story knocking around my brain. It’s about a snarky immortal named Ace who, after being convinced he’s a worthless disgrace, wants to die. This is…[Read more]

Well, I was going to cover r-m-archer and Ethryndal’s question today, but I think I should take a week more to think about it. In the meantime, we’re going to cover Kate’s question: how does one write powerful, non-tellish internal monologue?

@r-m-archer @ethryndal I’m hoping to answer your shared question next week. In the meantime, if you could provide me with just a little more information, that would be helpful.
