Yesterday was an ordinary day.
I don’t mean that I spent it
marching through the mundane,
looking for glimpses of something new
to steer me off my road of routine.
I mean that I never lifted my head to c […] -

I have to give a speech this term—
and, frankly, I’m afraid.
It’s not my form of fun,

and share my thoughts aloud.
They say it’s just like […] -

I was hesitant to write about chronic pain, because I’ve experienced so little of it myself. I’m so glad to hear it touched you! I’ll be praying for you 🙂

I straighten my back, and shoulder blades
take on a new meaning.
Tension stretches its hands around my neck
and claws my skin at the same time—
like twisted thorns clinging to the seams in my shirt.

This poem stopped me in my absentminded article-browsing and forced me to give thanks to God– for the poem itself and for the message it contains. Both are beautiful.

To the girl I knew six Octobers ago,
it hurts to see the way your sweater matches your eyes,

Wow! I almost cried. I think I needed this. The part about not knowing our language yet means the most to me. I’m still learning mine, and watching others learn theirs. Thanks you so much for this!!! Needless to say it was beyond describing. It’s one of those precious pieces of writing that makes you look at things completely differently. Thank you so much over and over again.
