This is perfect, Cindy. This captures so much and expresses pain so well. Beautiful. 💕

Thanks so much! It’s definitely a difficult balance, but I like to think that, although the loss of innocence is, to a certain extent, inevitable, it is still possible to cling to childhood wonder. 🙂

I adore this, and it is so, so true. The imagery is woven in masterfully, and its words have such a tender but firm way of plucking heartstrings and reminding them what it feels like to vibrate, to make music. Thank you for this. <3

Thank you, Gracie! I always forget how short it is, because the music for it is a little slower and makes it seem longer than it actually is. XD

Exactly! I don’t know if you have ever seen and/or read Anne of Green Gables, but it reminds me of that- because Anne with an “e” really is so much nicer than just Ann.
Also, random fact, every time I see the “ou” spelling, it reminds me of the word “facetious,” which is the only word in the English language to include, in alphabetical order, one…[Read more] -

That’s pretty cool! I’ve read a lot of old European books, and I have a few Australian friends, so I actually kind of prefer the “ou” spelling. 🙂

Not gonna lie, as much as I love poetry I haven’t learned a lot about the technique of it, and I had to look up what an ABCB rhyme scheme is. ;P But yes, that was actually my primary pattern until a couple years ago when I started branching out a little more. (Also, do you happen to live outside the US? Just curious because of how you spelled…[Read more]

Yeah… a lot of poetry. It’s something I can do during the 15 minute break I get at work on the nights I skip supper, or when I just need an outlet. I took up free verse in the last year, which has really helped. I enjoy rhyming poetry too though, and I’ve been doing that since I was 7 or so. Why do you ask?

@w-o-holmes Welcome to New Wessex! What should we know about you before the initiation into the family of Saxon Scribes begins? 😉

Ooh, I really like both of those thoughts @noodle-mum and @daeus-lamb. They both kind of tie together.
Fear of the unknown isn’t something I’ve really thought about specifically in relation to villains. This opens up a whole new world to explore…

I love all these thoughts so far! The two main divisions between relatable villains and inhumane villains are especially helpful.
Also, as someone who is currently reading “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich,” I feel like it would do us well to look at some real-life villains.
Hitler, whom many believe was possessed. His main agenda was to…[Read more]

Oh yeah. I totally knew what you meant. 😛
Also, GREAT THREAD TOPIC. This looks like it will be a wonderful discussion… 😀
The first person who comes to my mind is Dr. Regis Blackgaard. “But he’s in Odyssey!” you say. “It’s a kids show! He can’t be that bad!” you say.
Oh, but he can.
They always manage to veil his darkest moments in…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb This sounds perfect! I would prefer Google hangouts since I do not have Facebook, but if Facebook works better for everyone else I’ll just try to hop on the forum when I can.

@noodle-mum Great idea! Thanks for starting the thread.
And I’ll definitely be praying for that situation! It sounds very terrifying and difficult. 🙁
For me, I would really appreciate prayers for my grandfather. He has… some very complicated mental problems. And no one in the medical profession has ever seen it before or knows how to help.…[Read more]

Yeah, no I don’t. I’m currently living in California, but I’m also European as well as American.

Yeah. For me it adds character to the word. Somehow.

I’ve never read it but I’ve seen two different versions of the movie, yes. True, Ann just seems to let you off a cliff.
That’s cool, I’ve never heard of a word like that before!
