@zee I’m really sorry, but romance is the only genre I don’t read =P I wish you luck getting readers. The premise sounds interesting.
The one thing that stood out to me is I was under the impression the YA demographic ranges from about 13-18. Has that changed in recent years?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>@zee</p>
Thanks for your opinion! When I first came up with the idea for this story, I had no intensions for it to have any romance in it, then as I got more detailed with the plot the romance just kind of slipped in. If that makes sense.
I will definitely consider your suggestions, but I feel I were reading a book…[Read more]

Hey Erynne! Aw, your story sounds tragic!!! That might actually make me cry if I ever read it!! 😢
Oh, I totally feel you when it comes to reading/writing Christian romance! People can be so messed up, and a lot of it shows in their writing. The fine line between beautiful romance and bad stuff is sooo hard to write. I don’t writ…[Read more]

Ugh! I always forget to tag people! *facepalm*
My posts would probably get more recognition if I actually remembered to tag a few people every once in awhile XD
So here I go… @zee @arindown @emberynus-the-dragonslayer @writergirl101
Well that’s everyone I know on this group, but it’s a start. Hope that works

There are a few of my character I am struggling to draw, if you’re still interested in doing a portrait or two, I can give you the descriptions. Just let me know! (Also, if you don’t mind to let me know how many you are wanting/ willing to do, that would be great :))

This is a really cool question! I agree with what others have said, but for me the main factor is whether the character is growing from his stupid decisions. Is he just doing the same thing again and again with no hint of him ever learning to do better? If there’s no indication of future growth and change, then I would give up on a character…[Read more]

I’d lose interest and sympathy in a protagonist if he keeps making bad decision time after time. But a huge factor would be how bad the decisions are, and how often he makes them. Say there’s something he needs to choose between, and he makes the obviously bad choice and then keeps doing that repeatedly, I’d get tired of him pretty…[Read more]

Like always, this is such a good question.😄
I think for me, the thing that turns me off is stupidity without reason. In life, people make wrong choices, but they always do it for a reason. Characters that just can’t get a grasp on reality are so frustrating. I honestly don’t care how many bad choices a character makes, as long as I can…[Read more]

Whoops! I’ve done it again *facepalm* I don’t know how I didn’t see your answer! I’ll answer your question though, LOL.
I think Penny would trip and fall, being my most clumsy character, and she would totally spill whatever she was carrying all over people around her. She is not very graceful XD

@kristianne-hassman Great suggestions, thank you! I actually hadn’t thought about her living with the Dr… So now I’m thinking I will have him adopt her. Makes sense, and her adoptive father never had much a of a strong character in my mind anyway, lol.

Here is the revised version.
Every night, from dusk to dawn, Carmadyne town is invaded by mysterious humanoids. In fear of the creatures, no person ventures from their homes until the sunrise. Nine-year-old Wren complies with the curfew without questioning the reason behind it— until one night, when she decides to ask her n…[Read more]
