@the-inkspiller 😀 Thank you so much! Take as long as you need. 😉
*shivers* Okay, this guy is. . about eighteen. Tall and lean, probably nearly six feet. Don’t know if you’ve seen the drawings of Nyel and Kiet that Chalice did, but he’s from the same tribe they are. Straight black hair, green eyes (don’t worry about the color if you do b&w; just…[Read more]

Kirat (texting his manager): Hey, are we still on for today?
Manager: Yes. You don’t need to text me this every morning. We are still “on” for work every Monday-Friday
Kirat: Kenem? You’re here too? Amazing!

@the-inkspiller Thank you so much for your honest feedback! I really appreciate it. As you have probably deduced by now, I am a girl, so writing from a guy’s point of view accurately is a field which I still need to work on. I also don’t actually hang around guys that much, so my knowledge is also limited. I will definitely keep your comments in…[Read more]

*cracks knuckles*
For starters, don’t shy away from writing characters of other nationalities. That sounds kind of obvious, but that’s an important place to start.
Imagine having a friend of that nationality read your story. Or if you can, ask someone of that nationality to read it. If you’re comfortable with that, even if you’r…[Read more]

This week’s question for the newsletter comes from Eowyn. 😉
How can I write characters of different nationalities in ways that aren’t offensive to people of that nationality?

@the-inkspiller I think I may have read the same roll call! I’ll probably have to end up using one of them. Right now, the marshal that appears in my story shall remain nameless. 😀 I never knew that about Oklahoma! That’s interesting. U.S. Marshals do not seem to have lasted very long anywhere. Thank you for your help!

@the-inkspiller I do have a question, actually. I’ve been trying to find a marshal of Tucson, AZ who was active during the year 1890, but I haven’t found anything. Do you happen to know of one? 🙂
-
@kendralynne518, unfortunately I do not, but I can make some time to do some additional research if required.
I was able to find a U.S. Marshals Service Roll Call which says a John Collins died in the line of duty in 08/10/1883;
Then in 1892-93, three Arizona marshals died in quick succession:
Vernon C. Wilson, 09/13/92′;
Tom C. Smith…[Read more]-

@the-inkspiller Okay, wow, let me just say that your information is incredibly helpful and insightful. Thank you so much! I know, it’s kind of disappointing that I can’t include the Earps or Doc Holliday in the story… they’re such fascinating people! But then, I don’t know what I’d do with them anyway. 😛
I’ve gotten quite a bit of writing…[Read more]

You sound like me . . . If I make a typo, I agonize over it and chastise myself about it for the longest time! 😛
That’s neat! And an interesting concept that it’s not just about using big, complex words. I’ve actually never thought about it in that way–that it’s also about meter and the flow of the words as well.

Yes, it did seem a little short to me too. I like the idea about adding more with the sharks so maybe I’ll try that!
And nope, this was not taken out any other projects 😉 This story is all there is! It’s an interesting thought to turn it into a…[Read more]
