@seekjustice thanks for the welcome!
Yes, getting a Master’s is a lot of work, but I am really enjoying it. Lots of research, lots of persuasive writing. 🙂
The Scarlet Pimpernel is like a French-Revolution-era Zorro, really the first to introduce a “masked hero.” In England he poses as a spoiled rich kid but goes across the…[Read more]

Hi again 🙂
Oh cool…have you decided what it will be about?
Ah…my favourite kids’ books are probably Ranger’s Apprentice (I don’t know if they are classified as kids’ books, or if that’s more picture books?)…I’m not sure of many others – I don’t tend to read lots of kids’ picture books nowadays…I’m more mature now 😉 Jk…I…[Read more]

@seekjustice I think I tend to have a good variety? But I haven’t tested all of my characters, so I can’t be sure. Lemme see what I’ve got in my sprawling fantasy epic… (I’ve tested more of those characters than any of my others.)

@deeprun thank you! 😀 I used a MozArt Supplies Komorebi Japanese set for the larger one and Winsor and Newton, professional grade, for the smaller ones (pricey, but the half pans I got look like they’ll last a while and really make the color pop, even on student grade paper)

Ooh your story reminds me of one of my favourite shows, Psycho-Pass, which is a little similar in premise (a science-fiction psychological thriller featuring a seemingly perfect society with the main characters being the defenders of the status quo). I’ll just put the synopsis here for reference in case it is useful. From what I…[Read more]

I’m going for a sort of…. 1984/Fahrenheit 451/Inception tone. It’s hard to explain. I want the audience to have clues of what’s going on, but think the exact opposite of what’s really going on until I finally reveal what’s really going on. That’s why “real truth”(or, the genuine belief by the characters that it is real truth) is…[Read more]

Your feedback is actually pretty good, for the purpose of this book. I won’t give many hints… but it’s essentially supposed to seem like a more generic Sci-Fi novel when it’s really not. I do want it to still sound more unique and interesting to draw people in – but then the reason for it being unique or interesting s…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I’ve come with kind of an update on my mom and another prayer request.

Hey SE people!
We’ve launched a cool new feature on the forum called groups.
You can find them in the nav bar like so:

Groups are hubs for writers to gather around something they share in common. They include a Facebook-like feed and most of them also include their own forums.
So far there are three types of groups:
1. Word war…[Read more] -

@seekjustice I can say hello in French and Spanish. Actually, I can technically say “hello” in several (eight) languages due to a choir warm-up that’s literally just “hello” in a bunch of different languages, but I can elaborate on “hello” in French and Spanish. ;P
