I like the idea of the crush’s father being a point of conflict. The outline does seem long though. You said sheriff, so what genre are we going for? Just an honest question. Maybe figuring that out could help pinpoint a good outline,

Um… Huh.
There are two ways for me to give my thoughts on that, @kb-writer: honestly or vaguely*. Let me know which, if either, you might want me to give, as I’d hate to come across as rude or offensive.
*For lack of a better word. It would just be less-direct, if you understand.

Is it weird to be totally nervous about this? XD I mean, I guess it is a war, so…
I think the villain POV idea could be an interesting twist, and I totally agree with what @kb-writer said about the best happy endings being happy in a way the characters didn’t expect. So…what if we somehow merged those? What if the villain got everything he…[Read more]

hi guys! It’s time for our next round of world building. Weather.
weather is actually a very important part of world building. Weather can almost be like its own character. Think about it. No story of London ever made it to press without talk of the constant fog and drizzle. The Boston Jane series is constantly referring to the rain in S…[Read more]

Hello Knaplingers!
As of today, we are at war.
And by that I mean, today is our first change to participate in the guild wars. What’s a guildwar? It’s when a prompt is given, and each guild writes a story that is then judged, and one is declared the winner!
Heres how this works.
There is a two week time limit. And then the finished piece wil…[Read more]

Welcome! I’ve just been informed you’ve been added to the guild. I hope you enjoy Knaphollow. We’re a quaint little village hidden away in the enchanted hills, where unusual and whimsy are bound to happen, and everyone carries a knapsack in case adventure strikes.

So, lately I have been leafing through old poetry for the purposes of editing, and I stumbled over one in particular… I was wondering if the ending is clear enough. And in general if the poem is too confusing. And plus whatever critique. (:

You know who you are, and hopefully you know what you need to do.”

Sorry I haven’t been part of this conversation before. I missed the part about real-world stuff and didn’t really know how to contribute as I don’t really have experience in Fantasy
As I may have mentioned before I basically write his-fic and that has sorts of language differences involved. And then there’s also the different cultures within…[Read more]

So, a couple months ago I wrote a story that was just going to be “for fun,” but ended up being one of my favorite things I’ve written. It also ended up being rather long for a short story, weighing in at over 9,000 words. I’m not planning on editing it more (unless you guys convince me I should), but I’d appreciate it a lot if you could give me…[Read more]

Hi guys!
Here I am, fashionably late.
Today on our world building escapade I want to talk about language. Language is one thing that brings a setting to life. Wether it’s the entire languages Tolkien created, the magic language in The Inheritance Cycle (help me out @i-david, I cant remember what it’s called) that controls magical powers, or eve…[Read more]

Thanks @kb-writer ! This is great feedback!
1) I’m split on keeping the wording as it is because I think it stands out a bit more and makes the reader think a bit more concretely about some of the horrors of martyrdom than otherwise, but I also don’t want to come across the wrong way. I really appreciate your input on this.

@kb-writer Thank you so much for your advice!!
When I was writing this, I actually wasn’t thinking of true beauty. I was trying to communicate, in a very general sense, that Christians may appear to be like everyone else, but in times when non-believers cannot thrive, (like difficult trials and dark times) Christians shine their light and still…[Read more]
