Morning, Avensers! 😀
I completely forgot to lay out what our guild actually is for the new recruits *facepalm*. So, here’s a brief outline of what we do here:
What’s the purpose of the guilds?
The purpose of the guilds is to foster a small community of writers who can encourage and strengthen each other.
Here are all the subcategories of Ave…[Read more]

@millennium-m Welcome! 😀 It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. *bows* I’m working on an explanatory post for Avensbeck (after I realized I threw you guys in here without explaining anything *facepalm* ) that I’ll hopefully post tomorrow. 🙂
@miriam-smith Hi! Nice to meet you. 😀 How long have you been writing? What’s one hobby you enjoy?

@sam-kowal Most likely.
@anne-of-lothlorien I understand. I will alert you if there are any concerns. And I apologie that it took so long to get you in a guild. We wanted to meet about our guild survey first (which prompted this policy) before adding new members. It took a bit longer than we’d hoped.

A unique setting isn’t about how you describe it, but about how a character perceives it.
Everything in a story revolves around characters, including setting. Descriptions are not foreign elements that mu […]

😀 Yay! I’m so glad!

This is so good! I have been struggling with the POVs for my settings for a while now, and I always seem to end up info-dumping rather than expressing with pertinence to the characters. Thanks Gabrielle! I can’t wait to put this to use!

This is great! Description is my main weakness in writing, so I found this very helpful. Thanks!

Oh my goodness, this article is amazing!
I have a few friends who just got interested in writing. Their books are interesting, engaging, and also consist mainly out of info dumps.
I knew that I could help them somehow because I’ve pushed past info dumping in my own stories, but I could never find a good way to explain how to avoid it until now.
Thanks so much! You’ve helped both me and my friends!-
*Avoid Info dumps*

That’s awesome! I’m glad it helped you guys. 🙂

I’m sad to see you go, but I understand. 🙂 You don’t have to do anything. I’ll ask Daeus to remove you from my guild. You’ll still have your account to use on the main forum.

@fawxofthecomics If you have a crazy busy week every once and a while, that’s understandable, and you don’t have to worry about being taken out. 🙂 But if you’re too busy for a guild in general and can’t post regularly, then I’ll have to remove you. I totally understand being busy. It’s hard making time for certain things, However, the rule still…[Read more]

@katethewriter *whispers* it’s not official behind the scenes, I promise. It may seem daunting, but you can totally blog! Don’t be scared by how official you think everyone else seems. Learn what you can and dive in. You’re going to make mistakes along the way, and that’s ok. You’ve got us at SE if you have any questions. 🙂
And I agree with…[Read more]
