Morning, Avensers! 😀

I completely forgot to lay out what our guild actually is for the new recruits *facepalm*. So, here’s a brief outline of what we do here:

What’s the purpose of the guilds?

The purpose of the guilds is to foster a small community of writers who can encourage and strengthen each other.

Here are all the subcategories of Avensbeck and what they’re for:

Announcements

This thread is where the I post important announcements and such. If there’s something going on that you guys need to know about, I’ll create a post and tag you. 🙂

Accountability and Achievements

This thread is where we post anything related to keeping each other accountable and celebrating achievements. We can start word wars, share goals with each other, celebrate our achievements with virtual snack food parties, etc.

Critiques

You can post sections of your stories for critique, or ask for beta readers under this thread.

Story Analysis

Under Story Analysis you can discuss stories (whether that be movies or books) with your fellow Avensers.

Avensbeck Writing Discussions

If you have a writing or platform building related question or topic that doesn’t fit under the other categories, it goes here. 🙂

Prayer Requests

You can post prayer requests and ask for others to pray for you here. The prayer requests don’t have to be writing focused.

Annual Theme Discussions

Each Tuesday, your guildmaster will post a question, exercise, or discussion topic related to our guild theme. Our current theme is emotion 🙂

Guild Wars

Twice a month, we gather together and battle the other guilds in grand contests!

The first type of war is a writing prompt war. To enter, we take a prompt given to us by the head guildmaster (Daeus) and collaborate on a scene or two based on it. Avensbeck has won this part of the war three times in a row.

You joined the right guild, y’all. 😉

The second war we’ve only attempted once, but are planning to revive. It’s like a massive world war where the guildlings keeps track of their word count for a week, add them all up, and see which guild wrote the most.

I have other other exciting activities coming in the future (including guild worldbuilding), so keep an eye out!
