@taylorclogston Fullmetal Alchemist is one of my favorite mangas. As is Promised Neverland. Also, the manga was much better than the anime. They ruined the second season.
My personal favorite is the literal translation of Her Blue Sky, which is “To Those Who Know of the Blueness of the Sky”, a movie. A shame that they often don’t translate the…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Okay, yeah… Apparently the growing up thing is still too new for me to realize when it’s happening. ๐ But yeah, I absolutely loved especially the first Penderwicks book (which I read several years ago, I think)… Which is probably also the best of them all (although, again, I haven’t read them all). But for ages 8-12 I do think…[Read more]

@taylorclogston, you know, I think the more technically correct term may be “New Adult.” And thanks for the encouragement! I’m happy to say that I’ve already found a few beta readers elsewhere.

@devastate-lasting @kylie-wingfeather @taylorclogston @winter_rose @joelle-stone The developers of the broken software just released an update that should have fixed this issue! It looked resolved on my end when I tested it, but let me know if you still find it occurring.

@devastate-lasting @kylie-wingfeather @taylorclogston @winter_rose Thanks for bringing this to my attention! It appears that the same software update that’s affecting the group home pages (https://storyembers.org/forums/topic/forum-and-guild-improvements/page/2/) has also broken the editing function of the site as well. I am waiting to hear back…[Read more]

@taylorclogston I’m taking notes. That’s definitely good stuff for Amazon publishing that I appreciated reading.
Mostly the approach I’ve been taking is to build my social media platform and website before publishing any books, because that’s the approach that I feel comfortable with – I want to publish my books to an audience.
But it is a LOT…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Thank you for your observations! They are super helpful and thought provoking. Especially the point you made about Arrowood. I’ve been having trouble developing him, mainly because I came up with the story idea and the main characters first, and then had to put a face to this vague antagonistic force I had. It’s always so hard to…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke I’ve actually read Wednesday Wars before! I didn’t really like it, I think because I don’t usually read that genre. I should try his other books though!
@zee I really love Madeline LโEngle! I usually don’t like sci-fi but her books are always really good! I haven’t heard of the other books you mentioned, so I’ll add those to my r…[Read more]

@taylorclogston, your words highlight how not easy to manage this theme is. It can touch very deep our hearts, even when we aren’t the victims. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I didn’t know Wise Blood. I will read it for sure. By the time SE launched the reading club on The Promise of Jesse Woods I tried to buy it, but I just couldn’t. Maybe…[Read more]

Totally agree with you @taylorclogston. In my experience, the biggest enemies have come from within the church. It is quite disillusioning.
