E. K. Seaver started the topic I need your questions! in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 2 months ago
Hey everyone! I’m starting a new series on my author blog for writing questions (whether it has to be about writing or anything else, though honestly, it would be better if they were about writing. XD) What are questions you had when you started writing? What are the questions/struggles you have now?
I am by no means a professional, but I have…[Read more]

Yes, I do believe it is something I’m able and willing to devote time toward– however, could you provide me with more information on your stories before I commit to anything?

@e-k-seaver I saw it! Thanks for getting back to me. I made a similar sheet to your content page:

If you’re comfortable and interested enough in that, let me know and I’ll fill out your beta application. Have a good night!

According to the Alliance of Leviathan, the Reflections were founded to determine who among the population were the smartest and strongest– and most capable to lead the nation that covered the globe. Those who won would be given an education at the University, the last college existing in the world. Those who lost would be forgotten, their n…[Read more]

Hey Maya!
(We’re going to pretend for a bit that I didn’t completely forget that I was on Story Embers)
Good to see you here. @lianajdouglas would probably say that she hopes you use the site more than she does, and I’d have to agree with her. (Both that you should use it more than she does and that you should use it more than I do. ;))

E. K. Seaver replied to the topic Why can't I write without guilt feelings?… in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 7 months ago
Oh, I’ve experianced this too. One reason I’ll feel guilty is because I’m writing when 1) I’m supposed to be doing something else (AKA major procrastination), or 2) my parents have said or set expectations for me to be following that, when spending that time to write, is not honouring their desires.
Maybe consider if you’re supposed to be…[Read more]

Here’s your character. Sorry it looks so bad. I’m not a great artist and drew his hair too long. 🙂

Yeah I don’t have instagram either so if you could share it on here. . .
Let’s see. One of my antagonist’s name is Daemon Stoner. He’s tall– probably around 6’2″– with wavy blond hair and peircing blue eyes. He’s very muscular, having lived on the streets all his life. He’s a jerk but he’s british and very refined about it. Um… He’s tan,…[Read more]

*raises hand* I’ve never done one of these before but it sounds cool. What do I have to trade to get the art?

XD It takes time to understand everything about it. Took me about six to eight months to get a good grip on all the functions, etc., and it’s still not the easiest at times. 😛
Yes, that would be correct. Here’s another link that you might find helpful in figuring it out:…[Read more]

E. K. Seaver replied to the topic Whats the title of your book and explain it in 3 sentances @Everyone in the forum Sci-fi Writers 4 years, 7 months ago
My book is called The Reflections, and I’ll do my best to describe it in three seconds.
Em Gades is chosen as one of the thirty smartest teenagers in the world to participate in the Reflections, a series of compititions designed to select those who would be the best leaders in the Alliance. At first, it seems like an intense game for all those…[Read more]

Also, about what Corine said about the honour, INFJs can be honourable, but not all of them are. I have an INFJ character who will straight up murder people if they’re in his way. He has the end goal in mind– destroy the Alliance (bad government)– which is the same goal that my main character, Em has. However, because he has the end goal so c…[Read more]

Okay, so I’m an ISTJ, which shares one cognitive function with an ISFJ.
Not to get too deep in cognitive functions, but here’s the stacks for the two you’re considering:
ISFJ- Si-Fe-Ti-Ne
INFJ- Ni-Fe-Ti-Se
Fe, or Extroverted Feeling, is very compassionate, wanting the best for the group (e.g. How do they feel about this situation. To quote…[Read more]

E. K. Seaver started the topic Worldbuilding in the forum Fantasy Writers 4 years, 8 months ago
What are the key elements of worldbuilding? I’m not generally good at worldbuilding and find delving super deep into the history of the world kind of distracting. What should I know about the world, and what’s simply unnecessary?
