Oooh!!! I love this thread! If you all don’t mind I am going to be stalking this thread…even though I am not a poet. (Please forgive me for intruding…I usually try to keep away from places I am not invited to, but this time I just couldn’t resist…😉)
@libby loved your poem!

So I’ve been thinking a lot lately about prayer.
Many times I have told myself that I’m too busy to sit down and pray – I have school and work, places to be and things to do – but I realized today that one doesn’t have to necessarily have to sit alone in a quiet room to pray. We are commanded to pray without ceasing, so why don’t we pray…[Read more]

Such good thoughts! I struggle with this too…most of the time I am so busy doing other things that prayer gets pushed to the back of my mind and it stays there until I need to ask God for something. I feel like I treat prayer as a back-up tool for when things get bad in life, but it is supposed to be a continual, on going communion with…[Read more]-
@eden-anderson I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one. And you made a good point that communicating with Him can be as simple as talking to others. That is another area I struggle at and am trying to improve at… to just talk to him about my day and not come to just ask for this and that.
Thanks for your reply. It was encouraging. 🙂 -
@evelyn
I think prayer is just like anything else in the Christian walk…you have to be intentional about it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts…this was so encouraging to me too! 😁 *hugs*

Thank you SO much for this, I read this last night, and it really reminded me that I need to pray more. Things can really push that out of my mind so easily, but I know that the most important thing of all is to focus on God first, everything else second. This was a big encouragement to me last night, thank you again. <3-
Aww so glad to hear it! I know that you have been a really big encouragement before so… just paying off the debt. 😉 <3

@evelyn Life has been busy an it’s been tough to get around to reading things, but I finally read this and I want to say that it’s so neat you shared this with us. I do struggle, daily, with bringing everything to God. Honestly, I can say that I’ve seen a lot of growth over the past several years, but I’m so far from where I know I should be.…[Read more]

@libby Aw, thanks for tagging me! Sorry everyone, that I’ve been busy and haven’t been keeping up with this thread, but I’ll try to start back up again.
Libby I really like your poem! I love how it’s funny but still strikes a cord of truth to relate with the reader. Or at least me. 🙂

@libby Ahhhh Libby you’re the best <33 Thanks for the invite!! I don’t believe I’ve yet infiltrated this thread, haha. xD
Here is a poem I wrote for the New Year. (: It’s short, haha.
The Prayer of a Bird
The skies are full of paths unseen –
Of lives untouched, of futures dreamed –
But only one is right for me:
So now I pray God, verily,
That…[Read more] -

@libby thank you so much! Any help you can give me is extremely appreciated, and don’t worry about the time frame, there’s no rush at all.
I personally don’t like critiquing either. I don’t like the pressure and having to be the one to point out problems with other people’s writing. But I know it’s an important part of the process.

Oh, I feel like I should give a few more details about the story….
So, it’s set in a totally fictitious world, but isn’t really fantasy. It’s written like modern day, with some reference to to futuristic tech. So I’m not exactly sure what genre it fits in, to be honest….

Hey everyone!
Sorry I’ve been inactive for so long. The holiday season has been more crazy even than usual, as we flew home from CA to TN a few days before Christmas to deliver my dog’s litter of puppies. We’d left her with friends and found out she was pregnant, so that changed our plans up a bit. The puppies were born Christmas night, and I…[Read more]

I know I’m late on both counts. Sorry about that. It’s been a whirlwind week. I ended up visiting my family unexpectedly (for fun) and didn’t bring any of my notes along for this week’s weekly lesson thingy.
Until next week, how about we discuss how our Christmas was and any goals/resolutions (especially for writing) we may have? (I’ll post in…[Read more]

Hallo, all. (: Soooo… well, I’d like to ask for prayer too. Blerp. It’s been a relatively rough couple of weeks, at least concerning my faith.

@libby Hi Libby!! My name is Michelle, my user name gave that away already XD Story Embers is a nice place,
your project sounds very interesting. Do you want to be friends?-
@michelle I’m SO sorry this took forever to respond to. I’m awful with responding – please forgive me!
I would love to be friends! 🙂
What brought you to Story Embers? What sort of things do you like to write? Do you have any favorite books?
Looking forward to getting to know you more 🙂-
It’s okay Libby, I’m not to good with responding myself lol. That’s a very good question, I came to Story Embers from Kingdom Pen (do you know about that?) I wasn’t part of the form I just looked in at their articles. I found out that Kingdom Pen was no longer going on, so sad, I heard about Story Embers but I didn’t really join, then later I…[Read more]

Alright everyone, I guess it’s my turn to do this. 🙂
This verse really stuck out to me when I was battling fear. I’m talking irrational, keep-me-awake-at-night fear. It was bad. I was especially struggling one night, and just felt like I was just being attacked by my fears, when I remembered this verse:
You are a hiding-place for me,
