Thanks for the follow! I’m actually not in college at the moment, still in high school — young but growing older and older 🙂
I know you must get asked a lot, but what are you planning to do after graduating? If you know, of course (I’m not entirely sure, yet).

I’m good! I haven’t been on here in like, forever XP
School is all right, just busy and I’ll be done before I know it anyway, haha. And writing has been slow, but blogging has always been a constant.
@bama-rose hope your exams go terrific!

I don’t really have much issues with it, but then again, I’m probably not your target audience. Sorry to be unable to help.

It’s good! I’d only suggest a little bit more detail on what exactly the curse means for Quinn, because I was slightly confused by that.

Germaine Han replied to the topic The Elements of an Eerie Antagonist – what makes a villain frightening? in the forum New Wessex Writing Discussions 5 years, 11 months ago
I’ve never really thought about this topic, but the first thing that came into my head was: irredeemable. This villain’s gone way too far down the wrong path and there’s no way to bring them back now.

Sounds good! As for the group chat, I’m open to both Hangouts and Facebook’s Messenger.

@noodle-mum I love that! Benjamin Grey sounds good to me, though. Almost British XD

What if the protagonist is a young, sprightly college dude? I’m not sure if TGA would work with him, though.

@noodle-mum No problem! We write the story as a group, but what really happens is that one person takes on the task of writing a first draft based on the group’s conclusions, and then everyone pitches in to help edit.

@noodle-mum Based on the prompt, we write our piece collectively after discussing ideas and managing to come to a decision. 🙂

Ooh yes please! If possible, I would like to pile on at least one red herring. Setting ideas, anyone? This seems like a broad prompt, which gives us slightly more leeway. Thoughts? Should we do the classic detective story, or spice it up with something more unusual?

The oceans and streams part definitely sounds like how I plan anything, be it short stories or novels. I do dabble in two genres, though – that might not be good, but I guess I’m still exploring what my main one should be.

My honest opinion: I don’t generally have that many writing questions, so I’d probably not increase my involvement. I’m also pretty busy daily, but I’ll keep an eye on what goes on here in the guilds.

I really like this prompt!
@sesi My first thought was a battlefield, too, so let’s not do that one. What about something really gaudy and unusual like a wax museum?

Germaine Han replied to the topic Self pub vs trad pub — a quick rundown. 😀 in the forum Announcements 6 years, 1 month ago
Thank you for writing this. Sometimes the publishing world can be a little bit fuzzy so it’s nice to have the process broken down into more understandable chunks. Even though indie pub gives you more control over things (and possibly more money off of royalties depending on how you market your book), I’m still leaning towards traditional…[Read more]

Germaine Han replied to the topic Why you should write outside in the forum Announcements 6 years, 2 months ago
Hmm, this is an intriguing idea. I often write in the comfort of my home, and sometimes I treat myself to writing in a driving car or a cafe. Writing outside – from my meager experience – has been wonderful, especially since I don’t have the internet to distract me. I should do it more often.
