Since I’m an Avenser, I’ll just come scoop up all these congratulations 😛 and say thanks, guys.
Really, though, it was @morreafirebird who is most responsible for the win and the piece. Congratulations and thanks for doing so much, Audrey 😀

Rachel Rogers replied to the topic Rillumen Colors & Related Randomness in the forum Rillumen's Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago
Great ideas on the colors, everybody! All this talk of royal blue and gold made me think of lapis lazuli, which is a semiprecious stone of those colors. Apparently it also symbolizes wisdom and truth, so that’s cool. I thought it might be inspiring. 😛 The gold flecks are pyrite inclusions, if my memory serves. Here’s what it looks…[Read more]

@kayla-joy Sounds pretty exciting! Not the type of book I’d normally read, but something I’d see and think “Huh, that could be worth a try.”
Also: I’m here. And going to be writing, hopefully.

Well, I assume you all know my vote, since I wrote one. xD Honestly, I don’t mind (and no hard feelings for not liking mine, haha). It was just that I wanted to take a unique view that no one else would use, whereas everyone is going to take the more flowy, artistic style. But that’s just me, and good job to those who helped put…[Read more]

@kayla-joy Yeah, same. I was halfway through mine, so I’m going to finish it tonight, then you all can pick between the two. Sound good?
P.S. Where is everybody??

@Brandon-Miller @ashlyvye @kayla-joy @rolena-hatfield @emma-starr @everyone else here
We’re almost up to the deadline, if I’m not mistaken, so I’ve written up a full short story, and put it in the doc if you want to check it out. Open for edits and critiques and changes (as long as the changes don’t sound awkward and out of place in someone els…[Read more]

Zachary Holbrook replied to the topic Well-done dystopian novels…where can I find 'em? in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago
@kayla-joy The author did write a sequel to the Giver, sort of. It’s called Gathering Blue and is set in the same dystopian world, but focuses on entirely different characters. There are a total of four books in the series and the last two tie into to the first one better.

@jane-maree @brandon-miller @kayla-joy Are we appointing a writing crew? (And is it sunrise or sunset?)
I absolutely adore blue and silver. 1 vote from me!!
@scribbles I like that color scheme.

@kayla-joy Sounds like my current villain . . . who I guess you could say is kind of a serial killer, but not really.
I’m not surprised that Canadian law enforcement is different than that in the US. Out of curiosity, what’s the book you’re researching all this for?

@scribbles @kayla-joy Green is my fave. So I’ll always vote to add it. 🙂 I do think it adds some natural, down to earth feel amidst the magic of blue and silver.

@kayla-joy @brandon-miller I like blue #1 too, although I was imagining more of an ice blue when I mentioned the forest green idea, like this (but with mostly blue and silver, and with a shade of green somewhere between the two on the left):
