Hey, sorry I didn’t get back sooner. Okay so, yeah, mine is not very cut and dry, but…
I finished writing my book last Sept. Because reasons, I wanted it released at the end of February. So between Sept and Feb I needed it edited, beta-read, formatted for Kindle and printers, blog tour set up, and book signing set up.…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb @taylorclogston @edmund-lloyd-fletcher I’m not sure if I can’t adjust the anti-spam filters. I will certainly seek to do so if I can, but it’s probably tied to the forum software we use and adjusting that spam filter could be tricky. I’ll try to look at this more after the summit later this month, but at the moment, my best…[Read more]

@edmund-lloyd-fletcher I’m doing Camp! I’m mostly excited. 😆
Thanks for starting up this thread! The NaNoWriMo 2019 thread was so much fun. 😀 And now I’m kind of feeling nostalgic. 😂 Anyways, best of luck to everybody doing Camp!
@r-m-archer That’s such a good idea! I wish I could do that, but unfortunately, I’m STILL working on my project from…[Read more]

@edmund-lloyd-fletcher The forum has an overly sensitive spam filter. I don’t know if it’s been adjusted over time, but I’ve seen it eat posts that were really long, were edited right after posting, and were short but had a couple pictures or hyperlinks in them. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if there was some string of words in your post that…[Read more]

What do you mean by “what do you use”? Like, how do you plan it, or literally what do you plan it in, or what?
It’s definitely not a trade secret, but I know personally my timeline was definitely nothing hard and fast, so maybe that’s why you can’t get a real answer? 🤷♀️

Good afternoon!Sorry it has been so long since I updated my status in bate reading ‘The Third Crown’. I’m finished the 2nd section and posted my notes to Google Doc at the end of that section. If you still want me to continue this, I’m ready for the next section.
Have a great day and thank you for your patience.

Hey SE people!
We’ve launched a cool new feature on the forum called groups.
You can find them in the nav bar like so:

Groups are hubs for writers to gather around something they share in common. They include a Facebook-like feed and most of them also include their own forums.
So far there are three types of groups:
1. Word war…[Read more] -

@wordsmith Thanks for deepening your previous discussion! I’m afraid I’m having a hard time following you. That might be from your heavy elliptical style, but it’s probably just me.
So I think that everyone so far, you and myself included, agree that voice is “Those aspects of writing which, intentionally or not, differ you from other…[Read more]

I was just reading an SEer’s blog and she said she’d just found her voice and it was “deeper and darker” than she would have thought.
That rang true. Finding your voice is similar to finding the “true you”. Society might have pushed you to be jocular, but maybe you feel most at home with sadness.
This relates to a concept…[Read more]

@deeprunI wonder if we might think of this in the context of actually coaching someone… what would we tell them? As in, we’re there to help them… not just give advice from the side (that’s often a good and necessary thing, but I’d like to look at it from a different perspective, if only…[Read more]

@eden-anderson *grins* You’re welcome!
Oof… Not great. But I did sleep off the headache I had Thursday night, so that’s good. Today my throat is still sore… but I’m coughing stuff up which always happens when I start to get over it, so that’s also good. *sighs*
