@caseybold – YES, I’ve always dreamed of having a writing group like the Inklings! As @deeprun mentioned, I feel like it’d be so beneficial if I had more feedback on my writing and worked side-by-side with other writers, instead of just depending on my own judgement and working alone. Unfortunately I have no idea how such a group would be started,…[Read more]

Well, as it’s a series, I’d definitely recommend the first one xD They’re all so great, though. The last one is probably my favourite one.

Hey guys! I am busy a lot, so there’s no guarantee that I can do a ton fast, but . . .ย I am looking for characters to draw, I’m in a mood, and want to draw someone’s characters, but not mine (which probably makes my poor characters very sad). If anyone, at all wants me to do some, that’d be nice, but feel free to go to the character art exchange…[Read more]

Yeah, those eras do sound hard ๐
I’m not really sure what eras I find the hardest…I haven’t really tried writing in many different eras. I think that writing historical fiction is always harder though cus you’re writing about something real instead of making everything up. I love writing during World War I and II eras, but it can…[Read more]

@caseybold The Divine Comedy is a real treat when you do the work for it–I hope you enjoy it! ๐ Yes, Mistborn is Sanderson. And if you liked Ender’s Game, you definitely need to hit Speaker for the Dead–it’s one of the few sequels that (at least in my opinion) is better than the first.

@caseybold My day job is at a classical charter school working as a high school English teacher. Currently in my third year teaching full-time, but I taught part-time for two years while at college before that, and during that time I taught through Crime and Punishment for a literature course at a local homeschool co-op. ๐

@caseybold Yes! Especially for swing. My brother and I use to be able to do this flip-sort of thing but we haven’t done it in forever, so that’s the end of that. ๐

@caseybold Apart from Brothers Karamazov, I’ve only read Crime & Punishment and Notes from the Underground. I much prefer Crime & Punishment to Notes (although both are good), so that’s what I’d recommend. ๐

That sounds like a great story premise! I love the amount of disabled characters Sutcliff included in her works, especially when she was writing at a time when disability was still very ostracised.
