The entire group, once thoroughly examining the room, moved on as they were told. A black door, the exit, led them to a dark hall, dark as night itself. Only a ghostly pale light flickered in the darkness.
Delton didn’t know what it was, but there was something about the darkness, and how it hissed in his ears like snakes, that sent chills down…[Read more]

First of all, I apologize for getting this to you so late, but we have a writing prompt war! We can brainstorm this week and then start writing it. The final product needs to be ready by June 30th.
Here is the prompt: Write a story where you bring out the beauty of something ordinary in the middle of a very dramatic setting.
Have fun…[Read more]

Karim nodded. “Good plan.” No one else really seemed to have noticed the dragon, so he must be hallucinating it. Even though he’d never hallucinated during a concussion before. Or did he have a concussion? Maybe he was just going…[Read more]

Today’s topic is about changing up writing habits when writing becomes dull and was written by Brandon!
Okay so all of you have gone through the phase where writing isn’t “fun” anymore, right? It’s not necessarily that you’re stuck or that you don’t have a good idea or that your book isn’t going well… it’s just that given the choice to curl up…[Read more]

@bookcrazygirl, I am doing Julius.
“Well,” Julius was replying to Aleck, “its just I usually know a lot and where things are in this place, but obviously not this one. You never know what Deathrock might come up with.”
“Like infrared snakes?” Delton said suddenly, after having Rei spread it all over his eyelids. “Interesting.”
“People, this…[Read more]

@bookcrazygirl How are you pronouncing Karim’s name?
________________
Karim leant on Ash for support. He felt slightly bad about needing a 10 year old’s help, but it’d be fine. Hopefully. He also thought she’d called him ‘carrots’ but decided he’d hallucinated that. When they made it out of the maze, he stumbled off of Ashley and leaned against the wall.

“The wall’s open. You just have to walk through. We won’t be able to close it behind us, but who cares. At least we’ll be out,” Aleck said to Julius.
Aleck walked through the opening and into the hall. Then he turned and called back. “See? Its that easy! Come on, everyone.”
Aleck turned and…[Read more]

Today’s topic was a combination effort from Daeus, Jane, and myself. We are talking about traditional vs. self-publishing.
I think it’s safe to say that most writers have a ‘one day’ dream of getting published: having your book on the shelves of total strangers and sharing your story with the world.
But there’s always that big question: are you…[Read more]

Things I’ve learned from my own experience with both mediums:
Typing:
Pros:
Typing is faster.
Typing is much easier to edit and clean your prose as you go along.
Cons:
I find myself easily slipping into editor mindset, and making new content at…[Read more]

Today’s discussion is from Jess Penrose and is about why we should write.
Why Write?
If you’re reading this, the chances are pretty high that you’re a writer. But how often do you tend to stop and think about what it means for you to say that? Being a writer often throws some interesting images out there, and not all of them are clear. This les…[Read more]
