Hi, everybody! Writing Gremlin here, again. Sorry I have taken so long to get back on here… BPW has actually been hogging the computer these last few days so I was unable to hack on Sunday and Monday like I’d said before. 🙁 She had a cold yesterday, though, so I figured I would log on while she is sleeping in. (Prayers for her, by the way?)
@urwen-starial: HI! Nice to meet you- I have heard a lot about you from BPW’s emails and texts and – oop – wait… heh heh, no, I do not hack into Google Hangouts texts… heh heh… anyway… Hello, Kirat! YES I am furry! I think I would look quite adorable if it were not for these spindly hacking fingers. They get in the way sometimes. To Rhioe, I will just go by Writing Gremlin. (My real name is a series of grunts and gurgles so…) And, as that name implies, I like to write and hack. If I did not like writing so much, hacking would literally be how I spend my entire life because… that is what we gremlins do. 🙂
@emberynus-the-dragonslayer: Hello! You are the one who emails BPW pretty often, right? It is nice to meet you here, as well! Were I come from, dragons are a bit of an issue – that is why gremlins typically travel above ground to hack and use our intelligent technology abilities – so your tag is quite assuring. 🙂 I guess I like to listen to whatever BPW pulls up on her Spotify account… I love music, but I cannot normally think of anything to listen to apart from whatever I find on someone’s hacked device. I do like her playlists though… Jamie Grace is a good artist.
@esmeralda-gramilton: Yay! Please tell your characters that I would love being friends with them! No, BPW has no idea I am on here as far as I am concerned, but I think you are good with the tag. 😉 BPW is so busy with college classes that she does not pay much attention to her old email or SE notifications, I do not think. She has two separate email addresses for each college to pay attention to.
@evelyn: It is nice to meet you, also! I guess I fall into the quirky category! Well… there is a rumor among humans that us gremlins will turn into murderous, ugly monsters if you feed us after midnight. However, that is just a myth that Hollywood came up with to make our adorable selves seem more movie-worthy. Even if it was true, though, I do not think that it would be too big of a deal over an online interaction, anyway. 😉 I am not easily offended; but I do have feelings that are just as fragile as any human. Constructive criticism is entirely acceptable, though. Thank you for asking!
@mayacat: Hi, Mayacat! I have seen you in BPW’s Google Hangouts texts, too! . . . um. . . which I don’t hack into. . . heh heh. . . BUT if I DID, your real name MAY or may not have seemed similar to that of a computer I hacked a year or two ago. . . *counts past hacking projects in head* Well, anyway…. I have not had the chance to jump around and meet too many of Urwen’s characters yet, but I guess I may say Kirat- he was the first to ‘introduce’ himself to me and liked my fur. 🙂
@abigail-rebekah: I am not evil! That’s Hollywood! I mean, you cannot blame gremlins for wanting to hack into any sort of technology we can get our hands on; it is our pure nature; and at least I was able to uncover some other pastime that didn’t have to do with discovering people’s personal information! Phew . . . sorry about that. . . I have encountered a lot of backlash from other gremlins for doing something other than hack, and I see giving in relentlessly to our nature IS evil- but we are not! We are adorable creatures! So, BPW is too busy with college classes to interact on SE, so on those days when she is not on her computer (normally Sunday’s and Monday’s, when she has the least amount of school and stays away from her computer, except for days like today when she is out of commission) I have the opportunity to hack on and say hi. *waves to make his point* BPW’s writing has been coming along well, even though she has not had time to post it or anything. Writing in general and playing the piano have pretty much been the extent of her free time. Here is a ‘hi’ from her, though, because I am sure she would say it if she were on here more often!Oooooo this sounds fun!!

For the sake of concisiveness (sorry to torture you, English freaks…😂) I’m going to stick with my characters from The Clefs for this because I’ve missed a good deal.😜 I’ll bring in the Dragon Slayer charries some other time. 😉
Would your character rather hear elevator music every time they moved or see everything in black and white?
Cadenza: I don’t know what an elevator is… we already hear music every time any of us takes a step… and everyone on this island is already black and white… I don’t think there’s much of a choice here…
Me: Just so you know, elevator music is far more monotone and boring than the music you’re used to, and the question asks ALL black and white as opposed to simply keymatines’ black and white skin.
Cadenza: Well, then, I guess I’ll go black and white so that this ‘elevator music’ doesn’t interfere with my own.
Barbinas: I don’t care. I already hear stupid music whenever I MOVE! It’s unfair. And I couldn’t care less if everything was black and white. I don’t think it would make hunting any harder.
Elissa: I agree with Cadenza.
Would your character rather be able to know when someone’s lying, or never be able to get fat?
Cadenza: I don’t think I need to worry about getting fat anyway. I’d love to know whenever someone isn’t telling the truth. *glances at Barbinas*
Barbinas: Oh, shut up. I always tell you the truth. Did I ever SAY that I wouldn’t run away from you at every possible chance? I’d like to know what lies YOU tell…
Cadenza: What about that ‘I could shoot a fly from across the River Adagio’ bluff?
Barbinas: Still not lying.
Me: Okay, break it up.
Elissa: I’d appreciate knowing when someone is lying. I like getting to the bottom of why he or she is lying in the first place. *takes an inconspicuous glance at Barbinas*
Would your character rather live how they’re currently living (in the various places they are in their WIP) or live the life they had before?
Cadenza: Is this even a question? TAKE ME BACK TO MY OLD LIFE!!
Barbinas: I actually prefer being with flighty, prideful Cadenza and Ms. Goody Two-Shoes Elissa in the mountains now over being with the Flats before. *shrugs* I even surprise myself with that answer.
Elissa: This life. I know I wouldn’t choose it if I were living in my old life, but this one’s far better.
Cadenza: *casts a disbelieving stare in Elissa’s direction* You were famous! You were at the top! You were-
Me and Elissa: STOP.
Elissa: I don’t want to talk about that.
Me: It’s alright, Elissa. *pats on back* Cadenza, just wait for this next question…
Would your character rather be a complete nobody, unable to ever become known, or super famous and unable to find anyone who hasn’t heard of them?
Cadenza: *chorus of angels* GIVE ME FAME
Barbinas: *rolls eyes* You’re insane.
Cadenza: What? Would YOU rather be a nobody?
Barbinas: *stutters* S-sure. I liked being unknown.
Cadenza: *smirks*
Elissa: *looks at Barbinas suspiciously, taking mental notes*: I would rather be unable to become known.
Cadenza: Too late for that!
Me: CADENZA! I don’t normally need to scold you like this. Leave your cousin alone.
Would your character rather be able to visit a past version of themselves to prevent a mistake or visit a future version of themselves to get advice?
Cadenza: I think I’d like to fix everything that happened in the past. Though, I’d need to figure out how to do that…
Elissa: From what I’ve heard, you could have fixed it with some good humility…
Cadenza: . . . . . . . . . . *GAG*
Barbinas: I think I’d like some advice from my future self. If I’d had that in the past I probably wouldn’t have gotten stuck with Cadenza.
Cadenza: *shoots him a victorious grin*
Elissa: *looks at Cadenza* *looks at Barbinas* *looks towards mountains* *looks east*
Barbinas: Helloooo?
Elisa: Sorry… just thinking about how much fixing past mistakes would change the future. If I’d changed that… one event…
Cadenza: The danc-
Me: Quiet.
Elissa: If I’d changed that, I wouldn’t have become a Sharp. If I were to change my past attitude and pride, I could have prevented… changing other people… *glances at Cadenza, then back down* But if I get future advice, I might be able to fix past mistakes without CHANGING the present. Maybe… maybe I’d do that.
Me: Okay! Enough spoilers for now. 😉

Cadenza: What’s whipped cream?
Elissa: Jello?
Barbinas: What’s a bath?
Cadenza and Elissa: Ewww…..

Would your character rather be stuck in a time loop for a month or stuck with their worst enemy for two weeks? (Note: They wouldn’t be able to kill each other if they were stuck with their enemy. Fight, yes, kill, no.)
Cadenza: *looks at Barbinas*
Barbinas: *looks at Cadenza*
Cadenza: Are we enemies?
Barbinas: Yes. But not WORST enemies. I’d be stuck with Edwin.
Elissa: Who?
Cadenza: His brother.
Barbinas: But I can’t kill him… that’d be torturous for me.
Cadenza: You’ve already stuck him with an arrow!
Barbinas: True. I couldn’t kill him… but I could fight him and make him squirm…
Cadenza: Wow… you’re dark… and he’s OLDER than you! I don’t think I have a worst enemy…
Elissa: Me neither.
Me: You both do. Elissa, you would be stuck with Faiza if it were possible.
Elissa: *hyperventilates and faints*
Me: And Cadenza, you have an enemy too. You just haven’t met them yet.
Cadenza: THEM?!
Wow, I’ve just noticed for more than usual as I over-read this that Cadenza is really annoying! 😁 I’ve accomplished what I wanted. She’s got a GREAT character arc, not to pat myself on the back…. jkjk. XD

Question: even though I’m not in a guild (😭- YET – someday when school disappears) I’m curious about these word wars because I’m a curious person. (😋) I’m clever enough to know that you write and keep track of your word count for a week to enter/win/etc., but do you enter your word count at the end of the week? Make multiple submissions as you go? How much do people normally enter to win a war?
If anyone else knows how to answer me then go ahead and answer, too. 😁 I’m simply curious.
@k-a-grey: I’d LOVE to do that! I’ve got a notebook totally chock full of ideas I’d love to work on and I’d also like seeing yours, too! Wanna start a google doc together to work on? I can share a couple of my ideas to work on and you can share yours? A short story sounds fun!!
Be warned, though, I have limited time due to school so I can’t make a for sure time commitment. I’ll try my best to contribute the most I can! 😉
Hi, @k-a-grey! I haven’t been on here in a while so I’m just now seeing your post. 😉 Really, I LOVE thinking up stories, character arcs, great themes, fun endings, special scenes, yadda yadda, but the hard part for me is actually WRITING things and making it to the end, as fun as it is, and I find myself with tons of editing to do when I do write. Is that what you mean by a storyteller? 🙂

Hi!! Sorry, I haven’t been on here in a LONG TIME; and it’s because I have been so caught up in schoolwork the past few months that I don’t have any time to write. Like, zero. 🙁 It’s quite sad. But this is embarrassing… that doc you’re looking at is… *laughs softly with a bright blush* part of the story… at the time when I’d posted this, I’d figured that I would be able to get through editing the rest of my chapters by the time you’d read the first 6! That document is missing… 18-19 more chapters? 😬🥴😅
Yeah, I’ve still got 2 character arcs to finish, an island to save, lights (that you don’t know about yet) to dish out, and some epic scenes to display in those coming chapters.
Idk if you would like to read the rest of those (unedited), wait until I have time to edit them as I add, or just stop there. 🤷♀️ Preference?
