@writercatherine
@steward-of-the-penAmerican Monday MORNING this time is fine. Ideally Sunday, but seeing that I didn’t get told about it until Australian Tuesday, we have one day’s worth of a disadvantage. Plus, Jane’s Aussie, so, we have a bit of time. 😛
Sooner it’s done, the better though.

@writercatherine The deadline is Monday the 17th, but I believe in the past we had to have it done on American Sunday so Jess could get it in on her time.
Gah. Time zones still make my head hurt xD

Okay Parimis!
I’ve spent most of today tackling our entry, and have added a lot more character voice. That’s made the prose stronger, but to be honest, ‘unique’ is a rather cryptic phrase. However, we need to cut down a few words. So, cutting back is appreciated!
Once again, here is the…[Read more]

@writercatherine You’re very welcome! It was my honor and great joy to embark on such an adventurous endeavor. And no, I don’t take it as everyone picking on my writing. You’re all helping me to learn how to better my skills at this craft.

STELLAR WORK PARIMIS!!!!!
(Yes, I’m tagging you all cos I really will get confused with all of the scrolling and hunting for what different people have said. :P)
PROSE: Haha, Shakespeare is probably not an ideal thing to be weaving in. Doesn’t fit allllll that well. However, in general, we will need to be working on making the prose really…[Read more]

@evelyn Whoops, I guess the link got lost way back there xD Here it is.
I agree that Shakespearean doesn’t really fit the story. By meter do you mean the amount of syllables in each sentence? *knows nothing about poetry* I doubt we could make it work here, but it sounds really cool!
For now we’ll just try to eliminate telling and then see what…[Read more]

Hi Parimis!
As you may have gathered, I’m not exactly well at the moment, hence I haven’t even looked at what you’ve done last week. Sorry about that. D:
As it is, seeing that, a) I’m currently a mess, and b) there’s a guild war going on, that you can just give some feedback on how you reckon the annual theme topic is going.
Have you been…[Read more]

Hello Parimis!
If you hadn’t gathered already, you may well have drawn the short straw with this guild. *grimaces* I’m sick again, and hopefully will be diagnosed later today, but prayers are always appreciated. (with any luck I won’t be hospitalised) But yes, prayers for health are always appreciated as I seem to end up with some weird…[Read more]

First off, thank you Cassie! I enjoyed it. Great job.
As for my thoughts: I do agree about the ending seeming just a little bit on the abrupt side. I’ll try and think of a suggestion how to make it a bit better…(note-important word: “try”).
I think that we need just a li…[Read more]

@cassie-hartfinh Aweome! Thank’s for getting us started. The ending does seem a bit abrupt. I think there needs to be some other conflict like we talked about earlier. That way we’re giving the character something to do as she struggles with the hope thing. That’s going to be hard to do with the word limit, but I think we can pull it off. I once…[Read more]

@writercatherine I think this is what you were looking for.
@coggleton I think the tech-level biomes is a good idea, with the biomes getting less and less populated the farther away from high tech we get.

@writercatherine Haha, Ima lil late, but XD Yes, it was this past weekend that I flew to my grandparents. Now my apartment is full of unpacked boxes and bins. But at least everything is here now!! Yay! 😀
Huh! I don’t remember seeing that guild name. Cool! Hehe, worldbuilding is sooooo much fun! Good luck! And BRING IT ON! XD

Okay, sorry that I’ve been kinda chaotic and sporadic and stuff lately guys, but things have kinda been blegh and yeah. Anyways. I am here now and hopefully can make some suggestions.
BASICALLY, what @ariella-newheart summarised is what we are going with.
I really enjoy the ideas that are being thrown around, and my one concern is that we do…[Read more]

Okay, all of this sounds absolutely stellar. Like, really guys. Good job. I’m impressed.
NOTE: @steward-of-the-pen is close, there is a 2500 word limit. Jane only has so much time to go through all of them.
*sits back to think*

- The character sounds stellar.

Heyo, Parimis!
First announcement—I did end up finishing the first draft of my chapter before the weekend, so yay! I won’t be needing to mop the palace floors.
Second, and I guess this is the main one…I’m setting aside my current WIP for a few years.
One reason is I want to do more worldbuilding. If I was just doing one story set in a short t…[Read more]

THE TIME HAS COME PARIMIS.

The competition will be tough. Avensbeck has won all of the prompt wars so far, and if we aren’t careful, they will dominate again. Also, t…[Read more]

This question was raised as an aside by @consciousdreamer a few days back, and I figured it could be good to spend one of our Monday lessons on it.
All too often, you can be reading a book and then have to put it down and rub your eyes because the writer just had their entire cast described down to every freckle in one chapter. You have all of…[Read more]
