Chelsea R.H. replied to the topic Favorite Fantasy Christian book? in the forum Fantasy Writers 6 years, 2 months ago
Probably Stephen Lawhead’s King Arthur books. They sort of lean toward historical fiction more but they have a definite fantasy tinge.
Other than that, I haven’t read many explicitly Christian fantasy novels.

@emgc Not bad. I’ve had to work more this week so I haven’t had much time for Worldbuilding or writing. But the weather has been beautiful and it’s finally rained some! Of course, now Queensland is bracing for severe cyclones.

Let me just say it’s been ages since I heard from you last! Secondly, love your idea! And your themes seem great. What was the gist of your plot? That might help me a tiny bit with your question.
I’m also writing a WW1 book so we can be WW1 writerly buddies 😛

The King of Night and Snow is mine 🙂
I quite like the sound of it to be honest.
Unfortunately my fantasy novel has no snow in it so i’ll have to come up with a new plot based solely on this prompt.

Just curious, INFPs after some of the discussions we’ve had, what’s your favourite MBTI for characters? Is there one you keep coming back to? And is it INFP or something completely different?
For me, I keep coming back to TJs, particularly INTJs, ENTJs and ISTJs.

My current fantasy is in the second draft planning stage and it’s a sort of low-key historical fantasy, set on an island based off Australia. I absolutely love it. It’s also my first foray into the New Adult (rather than YA or MG) category

Historical fantasy! Also I’m loving the new wave of non-european based fantasy.

@morreafirebird I’d buy those and hang them on my wall 🙂
I didn’t do too bad on my goals last week, but it was so hot and I was so lazy 🙁 Worldbuilding is so much fun though 😀
Goals for this week are:
-Finish my second draft plot outline
-Post two things on my blog
-Survive those scorching days when I’m going to be working 11 hours outside.

Hmmmm… it’s difficult. I just had a look at the Fahrenheit 451 blurb and it seems to rely on the fact that the audience already somewhat knows what’s going.
Guy Montag is a fireman. In his world, where television rules and literature is on the brink of extinction, firemen start fires rather than put them out. His job is to…

Jethro, Moses’s father in law, according to Google 😉
and also John Ronald Reuel, yes. )
I just guessed because I once named a character Reuel after Tolkien.
As for how to make it sound generic but also interesting… I’m not really sure without employing satire 😀

It strikes me as sci-fi with heavy dystopian themes. I haven’t read Scythe by Neal Shusterman, but the blurbs sound similar.
It does sound interesting, though I think the prose could be tightened in a few areas, as it reads a bit ramblingly. Some bits “truth – real truth – has been accepted in all four corners of the globe.” I t…[Read more]
