Would your character rather be stuck facing their worst fear over and over again, or be stuck losing the person closest to them over and over?
Judah: I guess I’d go with the second one, since I’ve already lost the two people closest to me. I think my worst fear would include losing more people and I really can’t do that. Nope.
Frankie: The…[Read more]

@professorsjb Thank you! I love high stakes stories too. π Your story sounds really cool. Lisa sounds like a really fun character.

@katthewriter So, mine is a short story and not a book (at least so far) and I’m still working out the details. It’s sort of science fiction meets horror and it kind of goes like this:
A group of college students stop at a hotel that is built on a time vortex. Objects and scenes from the past and from possible futures appear and disappear at the…[Read more]

First off, I enjoyed your story -thanks for letting me read it. π
I do have a few suggestions:
#1 I feel like your story could benefit from more showing and less telling. For example, when Wendy is in the woods, instead of saying she’s scared, you could do something like: “Wendy’s breath became strained as they rushed further…[Read more]

I think itβll be really cool if we had more diversity (in a variety of ways) in fiction.
Iβm interested in the idea of having LGBTQ+ characters in Christian fiction (and have considered this myself), though I think itβd be challenging. Does anyone know of any Christian books that have done this well?
Also, as an OCD person who struggles with…[Read more]

@pensword I have yet to write an actual horror story, but I had an idea for one I might do sometime -it’s basically a reverse Carrie story. So, in Carrie by Stephen King, a group of people are cruel to the protagonist, and then Carrie tries to get revenge on them and things go wretchedly awry (or that’s my understanding of it…I, uh, haven’t…[Read more]

My story is like Gotham (and many, many other Batman stories) meets The Naturals -but cleaner and not as creepy as those…although, it’s actually still kind of creepy and I’m working on trying to adjust that…
Does anyone else struggle to form villains that are realistic and wicked, but not so dark that you’ll give your readers nightmares? Any tips?

Also, would your character rather be the love interest in someone else’s story or the sidekick/best friend character?

Would your character rather have died in a huge war and saved some people, and been known for their bravery and strength in times of need, or have lived a long and full life and not done anything really special, but had lived through that same war and are able to inspire children and adults with stories about it?
Frankie: I’d rather have been a…[Read more]

Hi, so I know said earlier that I was interested in joining the role play, but upon thinking about the time commitment, I decided I’m not in the best position to join something like this right now. I’m so sorry!
From what I’ve read of the story so far, it sounds awesome! I hope you (and everyone) have a ton of fun!

Would you rather have your greatest hero let you down or be controlled by your worst enemy?
Judah: I guess I’d rather have my greatest hero let me down.
Jordan: Same.
Dante: Hmmm…this is a tricky question since my greatest hero is myself… *The others shoot him looks. Dante quietly realizes that he is also his worst enemy.* Hmmm. I guess I’d…[Read more]

Would you rather be sick and alone for the rest of your life to keep all your friends well or spend the rest of your life caring for your best friend who is dying of an incurable disease?
Judah: Huh. *rubs the back of his head and grimaces* I guess I’ll go with the first one.
Dante: Those are my options? Are you kidding me? *sighs, dramatically*…[Read more]

Iβd love to join your role-play! Thank you for inviting me. π
My characters are from a (more or less) realistic fiction story, so no magic is no problem.
