This is my first year too…I sort of remembered it Saturday night and just decided I was doing it Sunday. So I’ve been planning the main character but otherwise intend to “run through the red light screaming”. Which I think they term its “Pantsy or something like that. I’ve always heard to never edit or look back, just keep plowing through.

@professorsjb You actually phrased that pretty well. 😉 That growth from being enslaved by her unforgiveness, to realising that forgiving makes her truly free, is a great story to tell.

@professorsjb, cool. I like your most recent post. What materials do you use?
The ones who live the longest to battle another are not necessarily fighting for the right cause….
That’s probably true. Well then, let us quarrel no longer.

@professorsjb NANOWRIMO WHOOOOO!!!
I’ve done NaNo for the past few years (got to 50k in the first two weeks each time, because I’m insane), and the BEST advice I can give you is…don’t even think about perfection. My NaNo drafts are the most horrendous things you’ve ever laid eyes upon. They’re full of typos. I switch tenses by accident. I go…[Read more]

@professorsjb Unfortunately, no, I don’t think I will. I haven’t figured out enough of my WIP’s plot yet, and I don’t think I’ll have the outline/beat sheet things finished on time for NaNoWriMo.

Hey @professorsjb! I’m kind of a NaNo veteran, but also kind of not (maybe it’s just in my own mind that I’m not, I don’t know). I did NaNoWriMo for the first time last year and won my goal of 20,000 words (for the Rooglewood contest), but didn’t complete the actual story I was working on (it was a huge mess since I didn’t know my story very…[Read more]

So hi all!
I know that it’s kind of last minute, but I am
thinkingof going to do NaNoWriMo this year… I was wondering if there were any veterans among you who could enlighten me or grace me with your wisdom. Since this is my first year, and also since I have next to zero time, I know it will be a great challenge, but I still want to try. I…[Read more] -

@eden-anderson, Yes! My favorites are the Spirit of St. Louis and Mount Rushmore. Apollo 11 is good too. 🙂
@selah-chelyah, We will never give in! Never!!
@professorsjb, I actually don’t have a Tumblr account, so I won’t be able to see your artwork. 🙁 Are you on Instagram?

Unique and realistic characters are something we all strive to write. No one wants to hear that the readers can’t connect or care for the characters we worked so hard on and spent so much time with. So we try to make them unique. We give them quirks and personality and struggles and fears and dreams and—
Hold on, Jane, what on earth does this hav…[Read more]

@professorsjb nice! I’m liking all those ideas. Very cool. 😀
@e-b-raulands hmm that’s an interesting one. I would almost say that your focusing question isn’t focusing enough. It still leaves you with a very broad area left to cover.
Maybe you could narrow it down a little further and address a narrower element of growing though…[Read more]

So far in our theme series, we’ve covered What Theme Actually Is, how to Narrow Down Your Theme into a focusing question, but how do any of these actually work in the story itself?
It’s all well and good to have a handy little focusing question and a bunch of answers, but how do we actively apply these to a story?
Here’s where we get to one of m…[Read more]

OKAY MEERKATS. Apparently there’s going to be a little ‘about’ page for each Guild and Josiah wants the content for them this week, and that content is meant to be our history and legends, etc. So…I guess we should continue brainstorming. XD
So we’ve got the idea of ranks/titles, and also maybe we’ll need some history (and background on why…[Read more]
