Alright guys, it’s off! I did cut out a few unnecessary words just to get it into the right word count, but other than that I think it looks good. Well done all of you on all the ideas and planning and writing that went into it. Together we will conquer! And if not this time, some other time. I’m just so thrilled with how everyone worked tog…[Read more]

So… We had said we wanted to have this done two days before the deadline…which means we have TWO DAYS to get writing and editing. I made up a suggestion outline using tentative names, so of course we don’t have to use this, but if anyone finds it helpful:
Scene One: Town Anniversary celebration; accident with fire (fireworks?) kills…[Read more]

So… does Google Docs work for everyone? Because if so, I can make a Doc and post the link on here for you all unless someone gets to it first…

okay I like kari’s idea and more than one person is welcome to write
basically, I think this is what we have come up with so far
A villain parents were killed during a giant festival type thing because of faulty somethings that most of the town helped with/put up. (that we have not clarified) and at school, a kid just slightly younger than him…[Read more]

Okay, I’m not sure who is on here right now. Are you still wanting to write this @kjames0813. I don’t think we need fantasy at all for someone to burn a town. Though a good question is why does the villain burn down the town. I’m not entirely sure if the whole birthday present thing works with the story we have come up with. Does he do it cause…[Read more]

So we need to think about the time era and the size of the town. I’m guessing its pretty small. Are we thinking like a western town? What culture do these people come from… The villain could possibly come from somewhere outside the culture of this said town and the protagonist. Should the Villian be the same age, gender… etc
Is our town…[Read more]

Hi guys!
here’s your next topic to consider when writing in your chosen worlds. How do characters travel, What is the terrain like, and how far are they going?
this applies to real life settings or made up ones.
In the first draft of my dystopian set in Cody Wyoming, my characters walked or rode a horse everywhere, but they always arrived at t…[Read more]

I say do it. This is only our first war, so it’s ok if it’s not perfect. I know who the judge is. She’s lovely. It’s going to be fine.
I think we can definitely take this whole final conversation with the city burning and run with it. A few sentences with the right emotion are going to be enough to set the stage showing these two charact…[Read more]

So with what you all are saying the city burning in the end idea could still kind of fit!!! Like if the hero knows the villain is going to burn down the city and can’t stop him and in the end, the city burns down and everyone has to leave. So the last scene would kinda physically represent the burning of his old life and choosing something b…[Read more]

I also clap and cheer and whoop for @duskflower‘s third idea for the ending, and @duskflower‘s second idea for the story itself. Such as, what if the villain has kind of taken the protag under his wing and mentored him, intending to make the protag his successor? But when the villain starts asking the MC to do terrible things, the protagonist…[Read more]

Hey, everyone, shall we take a tally and begin writing?? I can’t wait to see what we come up with!!!
I thought another aspect that might help us narrow down the story would be to think about the character we want to write about and who they are.
Do you all have any new ideas or…[Read more]

An Observation
The moon is just a tiny sliver
In the sky tonight.
Some great sky-giant must be
Clipping his fingernails.
@kb-writer  I’m late for saying this, but your poem made me smile. 👍 👍 😀
Also, @eden-anderson and @evelyn  Thanks!

Ok guys, this is fun!
@i-david, the Villain’s Birthday idea was HILARIOUS. But I think for the ending to be truly happy, there has to be some kind of hope.
@naomi-sowell Ditto!
@kb-writer I liked your outline, even if it would work better as a novel.

What if the story was third person somehow and the town is destroyed but somehow the would be hero has a reason to think he has begun to get through to the villain and in the end the town burns down and its really sad but it is about somehow the way they changed the villain or maybe the vilian does have a major change of heart and nobody knows…[Read more]

@kb-writer Ah, thank you for your critique! I will work through it! 😀 😀 😀
And yes, that was basically the meaning… I was wondering if the “locked above” was too confusing… as I didn’t literally meant locked above, but I meant it more as just locked away and numbed from feeling anything, but wanted to rhyme and all sooo… yeah. 😛 I’ll w…[Read more]
