okay I like kari’s idea and more than one person is welcome to write

basically, I think this is what we have come up with so far

A villain parents were killed during a giant festival type thing because of faulty somethings that most of the town helped with/put up. (that we have not clarified) and at school, a kid just slightly younger than him reaches out. He is amazed because the kid is different than the rest of the town, he then takes the kid under his wing though he’s only a few years younger to protect him from the town. Their friendship grows over the years and the villain harbors resentment and hate for the town that only grows greater over time. Say on his 18th birthday or something he decides to burn the town as he has grown so bitter. he ask the protagonist for help but he refuses to decide to stick to what is right. In our storie, it would be a final conflict conversation between the two of them and then the town burning.

he would be free from the guilt and it would be happy cause he found the true meaning outside of his friendship and though the town is burning it is kinda sad but fresh new start for him.

I know this is kinda flawed but I think that is the basic idea. you guys let me know if I missed something or said something wrong.
