Ooh I liked it 🙂 And I loved all the bits that relate to wind (like Life Breather and Breathed).
Scene Questions
1. Is there anything that stood out to you as intriguing about this scene?
I loved the clearness of the writing of the moment it portrayed.
2. What would you say the mood was of this scene?
Tendrils of love,…[Read more]

@joelle-stone Absolute mood. Same here, same here.
@lonathecat Oh, nice! Sounds like LoTR was made just for you, then! The Silmarillion was so heavy for me, but I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ve yet to read The Wingfeather Saga yet, but I’ve heard great things about it.

I hath been summoned! Thanks!
Hmm, familiar issue! I’ve had to take longish breaks several times, because of life, yaknow.
Here are several solutions that have helped me.
Plan out your chapter. Idk if you are a plotter or pantser, but just planning out the next chapter can help.
As Joelle said, talk about it!…[Read more]

Hello Kylie!
You are not alone. We have all been there. Totally understand. Don’t be hard on yourself. Feeling guilty about it, tends to frustrate creative thought, so let it go. You are God’s gifted girl. Don’t let the enemy steal that truth from you. Tell him and his sniveling whispery suggests to take a hike and fin…[Read more]

Great idea! Thanks for tagging me!
I’m definitely the kind of person who needs the slight pressure of “I said I’d do it and it’ll be embarrassing to say ‘and then I didn’t'” Soo, let’s give this a try!
Sprinting for 20 minutes from :30-:50. Goal- 300 words, at least.

Thank you so much! I grew up studying a lot of writing analysis and rhetoric courses for school so it’s…XD I really enjoyed listening to your prologue! I think really the only thing that made it seem too vague were how spaced out the samples were; reading the prologue all at once definitely would have it flow much more naturally and as a nov…[Read more]

Hi Joelle,
Oh, I would so love to hear this, but the link did not work for some reason. Did you upload it on something like Google Docs and then make it shareable?
If it doesn’t work could you, perhaps email it to me, and I will help make it accessible? Psst: my email is: Excavatia(at)hotmail.com

So, usually I do medieval Fantasy (i.e Ranger’s Apprentice style) with maybe a very light touch of magic (I have a phoenix in my current WIP novel). But I’ve also tried a dystopian/fantasy style for a MG short story I just finished. It’s kinda like alt. history, in the sense that there’s wagons, trains, towns and cities, b…[Read more]

LOL! All I know how to sign is “I love you” “please” and “thank you” (or was it “you’re welcome”? Shoot I always mix them up signing XD) and a couple other words and phrases here and there. Yeah, souls are really important to the stories involving Haven. And Brendin has a very long, complicated and messy character arc involving trying to reconcile his past as a mære under Ingor with who he was before and who he is now (which he really is not at all sure of). I as the author find it kinda heartbreaking to see him go…[Read more]
