Nithel feels someone kneel in front of him, but he keeps his eyes shut. Just done.
He wants to cry, but he knew man didn’t do that. Not men. They shouldn’t. Not for themselves. At least… that was how Gabrel was. He trembles a bit, stifling whatever cries would come, trying to.
Then someone touches him. The touch kind and firm. Nithel presses…[Read more]

Somehow it reached through Nithel’s head the strange girl approaching Alessio. He stared at her a moment, wary. But when she stopped, seeming unaggressive, he looked back down. Truly sick.

Alessio was talking, but Nithel didn’t understand. It was all a blur. Too many impossible things happening in the same hours, or was it days? His stomach was sick. Nothing, nothing made sense.
More speech. But the world was swirling. He felt sick. Raised from the dead. Fire. Dragon. Metal dragon. Lava. Moving rooms. People. Books. Mirror. Death.…[Read more]

In regard to the whole love at first sight, i think Brian, you hit the nail on the head. Biblically incorrect, logically stupid, it is a notion designed to fool people, especially younger ones, including myself. I think of when Paul tells Timothy, “Flee from youthful lusts,” which in part could be grouped with ‘love at first sight…

What are your three favorite songs to sing on Sunday.I do love “In Christ Alone” (Getty) but I also love the one by Michael English. I once heard him perform it live and literally wept because it was so anointed.
I tend to love some of the “old school” Hymns too.

Absolutely! Any scene. No context is necessary. In medias res
We just want to hear the isolated scene you wrote and go from there. It is a kind of speculative exercise, just looking at the component. Think of scenes as puzzle pieces. We know they belong in a larger context and will reveal a grander picture once put together, but…[Read more] -

@everyone elseYou are correct. Too often people quote these banal phrases that mean very little when examined and often do so much harm. That is why we are told to “capture every thought”. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
There is nothing wrong with admiring the “beauty” of the opposite sex, but when we “assume” that attraction…[Read more]

Hello 🙂 Hope you’re all well. I’ll just pop in here with my character.
Mayra had been wandering around in this castle for far too long. She couldn’t tell whether thirty minutes, an hour or even four hours had passed. Every corner she rounded felt exactly the same as the last one, every door she passed had the same markings, every tapestry she…[Read more]

Apologies for the absence…
“No,” Jericho said as Alessio volunteered to sacrifice himself. “No, wait a moment.”
Brendin had sat down on the floor with his back against one of the beds. “Jericho,” he said softly in Kithin. “There is a way we can do this without losing anyone.”
She turned to him, startled. “You speak as one of the Eya…[Read more]

“If we start arguing over who’s the weakest member we’ll become too divided to survive even if we make it through this. We don’t have enough time to argue this.” Alessio’s voice was defiant, but scared. “Let me get just one thing right, and finish this.”
Nithel had looked back at his friend, forehead wrinkling. Pain is in his eyes, heartach…[Read more]

Hey, sorry for the prolonged absence. The laptop I’d been using to write on here wasn’t mine, and I couldn’t get my own one for a while after I returned it. I didn’t use my phone because I have trouble typing on it, and my typewriter doesn’t get an internet connection 🙂 .

“Brendan is not dead.” Nithel whispered, his chest aching so much, but he let Alessio scoot back.
“I will stay with you, even if I am cursed. A life lived in safety is selfish.” Nithel’s eyes were serious, showing the ache inside him. “I am not saying safety should not be desired. Rest is good. But if your safety costs the safety of others… It…[Read more]

The mankind hesitated, as if considering obedience, then continued his rapid flight. Malvat temporarily lost sight of him as he wove around corners, but the sound of his thoughts let Malvat track him down.

Hey everyone, sorry for the prolonged absence; there was a semi traumatic incident a few days ago and then my schedule has been booked since.

I’m not what you think. Alessio whispered, and Nithel breathed a moment.
What does he believe I see? Nithel squeezed Alessio a bit tighter, holding him as he pondered. Then Nithel lifted his chin, and looked at Alessio. Sadness in his eyes, but also firmness, “Eaziziun Wahid,” very softly, “even if you had murdered someone, I would not leave y…[Read more]
