Tagging some people…

@corkybookworm @missfaeriekaiti @wordsmith @everyone whose tags I forgot :p

@corkybookworm Congratulations to your brother! 😀 And best of luck with your crazy schedule! o3o x) I’m game for trading some feedback, though I’m afraid I’ll end up forgetting about it in a week. Still, I’ll check those boards out tomorrow morning, see if anyone’s posted recently, and maybe post something myself. =D

@corkybookworm When I notice my sentence structure starting to fall into the same pattern (normally simple subject-verb sentences), I usually try to switch up how I start the sentence. Most of the time, I add either a participle (-ing phrase) or a phrase with as or while at the beginning (I forget what that’s called). So, instead of “I walked down…[Read more]

@corkybookworm I think the first four books are free on Amazon Kindle again if the description(s) catch(es) your interest. x)

@graceabounds2129 Congratulations to your sister, and best of luck with getting everything planned and executed! =D I’m not sure I have any ideas for getting Rillumen active again, though… Personally, I get tagged in the…[Read more]

Yay, people! I miss Rillumen being as active as it was before, but I also understand that everyone is busy… I’m one of those too 😉 I, too, finished up my summer job this week. My sister is getting married in a couple of months, so we’ve gone into full wedding planning mode around here. And I’m…[Read more]

@corkybookworm I miss the activity here, too! *hugs all around* As for what I’ve been up to… The Forest at the Edge of the World, by Trish Mercer. Each book is monster-length Christian epic fantasy. The first book was just okay, but I got the first four books free on Amazon, so I decided I might as well read the next one and see how things go.…[Read more]

Draft 3 is posted! I still feel like it needs work (which is good because we still have 4 days). Anyone care to chime in with some new comments/suggestions?

Also, I may not be able to work on this much after Thursday as I have a busy weekend ahead.

We need more people to help out! Come on and critique the story @graceabounds2129 wrote.

I’ve never done NaNo. You need 44 for it? Wow! that sounds hard.

Keep it up! @corkybookworm

@corkybookworm that’s an amazing amount of words! (And I thought it was amazing that I got 22,000 in a month).

I’m late to the party, but @corkybookworm basically said everything I was going to. xD On the traditional side, there’s the sparkly trophy of validation, plus the publisher will cover the costs of editing and cover art and the like. On the indie side, there’s the whole I-get-to-veto-anything-and-no-one-can-stop-me appeal.

Marketing is probably…[Read more]

WOAH. That’s a lot of words. Congratulations!

And cool! I didn’t know YWW was putting on a conference. Sounds like an absolute blast! Glad you were able to glean a lot from it!

@corkybookworm

From what I understand (don’t just go off of me though because I am also unsure), it is okay to send queries out to a handful of agents/publishers at a time, but common courtesy is that only one agent/publisher gets your full manuscript at the time. So, if you query three agents and one gets back right away asking to see more, you…[Read more]

Wow, that’s a horrible way to watch such a climactic movie. I’m sorry for your loss, @corkybookworm.

I kind of have the same thoughts about Thor. I was okay with the fat Thor thing because it seemed to me to be a human (if really poor) way of dealing with grief. But yes, it bugged me because he never pulled out of it. It also bugged me because my…[Read more]

@corkybookworm How far are you in 100 for 100? And what conference did you go to? Did you learn cool things? How was it?

HEY GUYS

HI

Thank you, @nuetrobolt (when did you change your username, anyway?) for getting a few faithful souls gathered up (@graceabounds2129, @cassidy, @corkybookworm, @missfaeriekaiti, and @pookiemonster.)

IT HAS BEEN DEAD AROUND HERE. Dead dead ded. Dead as a coffin nail.  Part of that is my fault. I’m working 50ish hour weeks and trying…[Read more]
