@silverdragon, Hey there! Thank you, and welcome to Rillumen! If you don’t know much about me, I try really hard to take over Brandon’s job here *coughs*. In other words I’m an ENTJ. I also really like writing 😁 *nods* How ’bout you?
And I thank you in return!
Ah, I see. ENF-P here. XD
Wow, that’s surprising, for a writer 😛
I too like wri…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I finally got the urge to write again yesterday, and when I opened my google docs (offline) , guess what? Google changed formatting and it reset the offline function, so I couldn’t open any of them. :|</p>
Fortunately, I got into a service area and was able to get everything back offline, so today/tomorrow will be…[Read more] -

I probably could, but I really want to finish the RD before doing anything major. B ut I feel like nothing will work if I don’t add stuff toward the beginning…

XD that’s fine. It’s actually that I haven’t gotten to the climactic moment yet, and am relatively behind, like the plot and chapter line-up is like this:
—-plot—-
—–chapters——
So I’m on chapter nine, but my characters are still acclimating/trying to figure out the new world.

That’s what I ‘m having trouble with. While I’m trying to work through that problem, I’m working on rewriting a short story for a contest.

Ooh, thanks!
It’s shaping up okay: I am rewriting one story, writing another, and trying to figure out what to do for Chapter 9 of my novel.
Boomerang by Imagine Dragons, and This Isn’t the End by Owl City.
Heck yes, about 20″ of it. Last week we had a warm day at – 23° 😮 we are usually in the teens this time of year, though.

Just going to Grandma’s house, through the woods and snow. ;P
My goal is to make 40k, and finish my current novel. And maybe a couple short stories.

Yep, as SilverDragon. I joined in ’15. When did you age out?

I play guitar, love snow, and hunt; I write historical fiction, sci-fi, fantasy; I’m 2/3 of the way through my first novel.

The Fire Within by Chris D’Lacy. The rest of the series is garbage, but that first one is a refreshing read. It is a light story of friendship and mystery, and dragons.
I am! Three years and one to to go! Are you?
And thanks for the welcome everyone! I tale it I’m part of a guild now? I’m slightly confused.

Here’s one of my newest sonnets:
<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Dangers of Hunting</span>
The fog flows around me,
Engulfing the world in opal white;
I step carefully, unable to see
The trees beyond my rifle sights.
A slip and a tumble,
Madly I grab at the roots
As small rocks rumble down
Into the ravine beneath my boots

@h- jones
The sonnet is 14 lines: each set of four lines alternates rhyme, I.e.
‘I see the the sun setting,
Turning golden red,
It makes me start a-fretting,
And gruesome thoughts run in my head.’
All three sets don’t need the same rhyme.
Lines 13 & 14 don’t have to rhyme with each other or the previous line as far as I…[Read more]

So why do you write it? What magic does it hold for you? What form do you prefer, and why?
I write poetry as a means to keep myself writing when the energy for my book lags. It gives me a little space to breathe in the deep waters of story.
I started out with free verse, and that worked for a while. I’ve written over twenty poems that way. But…[Read more]
