I’m late to the party, but @corkybookworm basically said everything I was going to. xD On the traditional side, there’s the sparkly trophy of validation, plus the publisher will cover the costs of editing and cover art and the like. On the indie side, there’s the whole I-get-to-veto-anything-and-no-one-can-stop-me appeal.

Marketing is probably the most daunting aspect of publishing to me, and that’s a thing I’ll have to face no matter which route I pick. x/ So, for now, I’m just hiding in my corner of the world, writing, writing, writing, telling myself I’ll get to marketing when I have more written / understand my writing process better / other excuses that basically just boil down to I-don’t-wanna. n_n;;
