@corkybookworm When I notice my sentence structure starting to fall into the same pattern (normally simple subject-verb sentences), I usually try to switch up how I start the sentence. Most of the time, I add either a participle (-ing phrase) or a phrase with as or while at the beginning (I forget what that’s called). So, instead of “I walked down the street,” I could put “Glancing behind me, I walked down the street” (participle) or “As I thought about what happened yesterday, I walked down the street.” Or maybe “As I walked down the street, I thought about what happened yesterday.” Switching up the beginning of the sentence can also spark ideas for how to vary the structure in the middle or at the end of the sentence too. Hope this helps!
