@daeus-lamb I LOVE ideas 1, 2, and 4. I’d say if it works out, y’all should go for it.
I’m with @eden-anderson and @cassandraia about number 3 though. I realize that this might make it quicker and easier for guilds to form, but when the guilds are done right they are worth the wait. Also, where would the leadership come from? I think this could…[Read more]

Okay, makes sense.
Well, even if there not that good, I still think it’s awesome that you write screenplays!
And I wouldn’t say Good and Evil is terrible; I’d say it just needs some help, just like most people’s first or second drafts. 😀 Seriously, some of the writing is actually really good and I’m not just saying that to be…[Read more]

@kate Aha! So that’s what’s been going on inside your head. Very cool.

@cassandraia oops, you beat me to posting! I love the pearl/goddess thing. Super cool! And that is such a sad but intriguing idea with the lotus. I would totally read that. Great job. It’s making me sad and angry just thinking about it. ๐

Saxon Scribe, ahoy!
I’m rubbing my hands that I get to tell you about Sanderson’s third law today. Brandon Sanderson is, of course, a famous fantasy author and he developed three laws for how to develop magic systems. You may enjoy reading all his three laws, but today we’re going to focus on law #3 because it applies to spec-fic writers and…[Read more]

Ohhhhhh yes. I’ve had to deal with it numerous times in the past 3 years or so. Two out of the seven-ish friends I’ve tried to make/keep in touch with in that time (which I know is not a lot, but I’m terrible at initiating conversations and relationships; I’m trying to work on it) have stuck around more than a year, despite repeated…[Read more]

This is a nested thread:
So instead of them all being straight down, they’re nested with each other, each one getting further indented. (This is the continuation of a conversation on cold weather, lol.)

Yeah. Relationships are hard and no one seems to want to do the work to build them. ๐

Mainly to see if it has potential; if there are any plot holes, if my characters are well formed and relatable, those kinds of things. Not so much grammar, but I certainly don’t mind. Also I’m curious to know if I’ve detailed it well enough.
So yeah, anything like that would be great!

Hey guys,
The other guild masters and I have been talking about the guilds and we thought we might be able to improve them with a few minor changes. I would really love your opinion on these. We’re notย planning on any of these yet, just toying with the ideas, but if you really like them we might roll them out.
Here they are:

Yeah. It’s sad that broken families are becoming more and more the norm. :/
Connection is really hard to find at churches. People (and I think this is a culture-wide thing that has affected the church) aren’t very good at reaching out to the new people and helping them get connected. Obviously there should be effort on both sides,…[Read more]

I hope I did the quote thing right! Still figuring out the forum. XD Anyway, I have just set it aside for a little while. I can believe that you would be strongly attached to your characters after working with them for as long as eight years! But I also understand how it’s good to move on to new stuff…have you given up on Exotic or are you just putting it on hold for a little while?

There are two pitfalls with worldbuilding. It seems you either don’t worldbuild enough or you worldbuild so much you can’t keep track of it all.
Worldanvil helps you fix both these problems. Thanks to @kate for recommending it to me.
While this site is built for speculative fiction writers, it could also work well for anyone who wants to…[Read more]
