@cassandraia, That’s okay! Yeah, I think I’m going to have to rewrite the whole thing, because it’s such a rough draft. π Thank you!
@literatureforthelight, Aw, thanks!
I generally look for plot holes, realistic actions/dialogue, and making the setting more vivid.Yeah, I’m definitely going to have to work on these things. I know setting is something I really struggle with in writing. Mostly because I tend to just skimp over it. π So thanks for the tips! It helps a lot! π
By the way, any advice on finding an alpha reader? I’ve never had an alpha or beta reader before. Just my brother, who gives me critiques when I ask him.
@corissa, Thank you!
I learned the hard way that sometimes, after all the editing, you realize there was a scene or description that you liked way better in the original, but you just canβt seem to replicate it now that itβs gone.Oh, yes, that is sad. π I’ve always tried to save my separate drafts when I’ve written shorter stories, but I do know the pain of closing a document without saving it. XP
Yes, I had to keep reminding myself while I was writing my first draft not to go back and start editing sentences and trying to tighten prose and stuff. (Which is what I like doing when it come to writing. XD ) So thank you for the reminder. π
@r-m-archer, I really like the idea of commenting on your own story. I’ll have to do that for sure!
Iβm something of a grammar Nazi, so it bugs me personally. XDYeah, I’m the same way, a little bit. Though I don’t always catch my own mistakes.
Your comment was really helpful. π
