@literatureforthelight *waves* Hey, have we met? I’m just curious, because I happen to be a Grace also, so I kinda got a soft spot for them.😁
This is a great question.
What I did was to start a novel that I viewed as “less important”…to just kinda get some experience. I need to get an idea of how writing a novel works, and…[Read more]

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Scouring of the Shire. That is a good part. Even if the movie had just kept part of it…😉 Yeah, I hope people would appreciate dear old Frodo more (apparently Frodo and I have the same personality, so I think I “get” him a bit more than other people).
Have you read any of Tolkien’s other Middle Earth…[Read more]

@emberynus-the-dragonslayer @kimlikesart @Dakota
Would you rather forget who you are every time it rains, or never be able to remember why you walked into a room?
Enan: *looks serious* I’ve never forgetting who I am again. I’ll take any other option.
Ella: We can’t all pick the same one. I’d forget who I was every time it rained. *grins at…[Read more]

@Dakota Thanks for the tag!
Would you rather lose your vision or your hearing?
Erik: “Vision, obviously. Even if you’re in the dark you can tell what’s going on, or who’s sneaking up behind you.”
Ky: “I’d lose my vision.”
Laurel: “Vision as in seeing? Or as in your hopes?”
New Question 2 – Would you rather always say everything on your mi…[Read more]

Ahh…those are some good moments. My favorites have to include Gandalf and the Bullrog, Aragorn and Legolas’s argument in Helm’s Deep, every scene with the Rohirrim in it (the horses😄), and Boromir’s death (not because of Boromir…because of how awesome Aragorn is).
I’m afraid (or rather, proud) I’m on the Frodo fan side of things.…[Read more]

Wow! Your story sounds absolutely amazing! Epic fantasy, princesses and farm kids, it sounds just like something I would love to read.
And yeah…my first chapters don’t really make sense either, but I figure that’s part of story writing.😄
Favorite books? The Wingfeather Saga is the best, but I also love Little Women, Anne of Gre…[Read more]

Just popping in to say hi *waves*
I’m wondering what you’re WIP is about? What genre is your favorite?
Currently I’m writing a Young Adult fantasy novel (I’m on Chapter 32 or something…) about a wizard who hates wizardry, an angry prince, and (one of my favorites) a horse named Bruce, and what brings them all together toward a…[Read more]

I know this isn’t exactly a “writing” topic, but since Lord of the Rings is one of the best stories ever written, and arguably the best film trilogy ever produced, I think it fits into writers talk.
I have a few questions to ask (just to get opinions), but don’t be afraid to ask your own, or to gush about that one scene in the movie.😄
Question 1…[Read more]

😆 “Works” might not be the best thing for me as an author. Thankfully, I’ve got an awesome older sister who seems to enjoy drawing maps and stuff. Most of our stories happen in a fantasy world we built together.
I definitely recommend the Songkeeper Series. I just read them this year, and whereas they don’t really compare to the…[Read more]

@r-m-archer Wow! Your worlds and stories sound so cool!
I’m not a world building type of person…so mine aren’t that detailed. I usually have a basic idea of what things are like in my head, and hope it’s not too confusing in the story.😄
I love how you broke some of those stereotypes that “every” world seems to have. Have you ever read Gillian…[Read more]

Arindown replied to the topic What Inspires You to Write? in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 8 months ago
What inspires me to write?
Writing, for me, I think boils down to two things. 1. Sharing the desperate beauty of this fallen world. And 2. the recognition of my place as a character in God’s master-piece story.
Inspiration is something that’s hard to pin down, but I think it usually goes back to something beautiful I see. The last ray of…[Read more]

@mischievous-thwapling @lonathecat
This is such a good topic.
I think my favorite relationships are specific to the story…but they do have several things in common. Most of them are entered around family. I think the reason I love writing parent-kid or sibling relationships is because of how important family is to me. My siblings are where I…[Read more]
