@wordsmith – Thanks for the tip. I see what you mean about it becoming too major. I think as I was thinking about it I got more and more involved. 😀 I really do want to back off, so I think I’ll take your suggestion and have it not very prominent at all until the end. Actually, I’m formulating the ending and if you don’t mind reading it, having a…[Read more]

@morreafirebird What do you know I took the MBTI test as Felicity and she came out and INFJ! I’m an I/ENFP, btw, so hopefully I can have some good experience personally to write from. She is very much based on myself, actually.

@morreafirebird – I don’t know if you quite got the idea of the seeing feelings things, but I just wanted to explain a bit more if I can, I don’t know if it’s not coming out right.
It’s not just that she can sense people’s feelings, like a normal sensitive person who knows when you need to talk and when they need to just shut up and let you cry…[Read more]

I don’t think there’s any rules about double answer riddles. I mean, there’s that tone from Alice in Wonderland that everyone has different solutions for. It’s your riddle, so go for whatever you want.

@libby, Yeah I think you could have different answers. Maybe. Maybe there’s rules for riddles. I’ll check. Google it, or whatever.
The last part is actually what made me think hope first instead of God. Because I’d say people actually do look for hope before they look to God, I mean if they’re not Christians, that searching and looking for…[Read more]

@thanks for the tips, daeus-lamb
I’m trying to find the balance between subtle and there, you know? I mean, romance isn’t the main plot, it’s not a romance book, but I want it to add to her character development, but I don’t want it to distract from it either.

@morreafirebird Thanks – Felicity is actually 20, so definitely old enough. And I would say that it would be normal for her to be very open to a relationship were she actually feels loved, because her foster parents didn’t give her that and she’s really alone. So I think not having a lot of love in her life would mean she’s needing it more. As…[Read more]

Anne of Lothlorien replied to the topic Synopsizes for short stories in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 2 months ago
@daeus-lamb Great mostly, but I’d probably shorten them both. For TDoN, I would take out the part that he is not the MC; that kinda gives away a cool part of the story. For TGZ, I agree with others that ‘shocking image’ is probably not the best phrase to use, because it may suggest something horror or even sexual. Unfortunately, even though I d…[Read more]

@parker Thanks for the encouragement! I’m leaning a bit more towards doing it, but I’m still not sure.
@wordsmith – Your compliment is received with thanks. My best friend calls me Anne because I love the Anne of Green Gables books and I also live in Lothlorien, so I decided to combine the two for my internet name.

My thanks to whomever had the courage to click on this topic. I realize that most of us are teens, so we don’t have much experience in the romance field, but I guess you don’t have to be in love to write about it. But that’s also my dilemma…
So, I’m trying to decide whether or not I should include a romance in my WIP, Firefly Town. I already h…[Read more]

I also just thought of this to share as well. Music is a big part of my life, and there are some songs that have affected me deeply. If you don’t mind ‘back-beat’ in songs, this is a very powerful song written by my favorite Contemporary Christian music band, For King and Country. All of their songs are amazing, but this deals with some of what…[Read more]

First off, I agree writing forums are predominately female, and I’m guessing a reason for that is partially because a lot of Christian young ladies do not opt for careers in the world over waiting for a husband and a family, so they turn to writing as something they can do without going out into the working world.
Nextly…

1st – lovely name. It’s my middle name, so I’m predisposed to like it. 😀
2nd – I’m mostly a panster, so I’m not too well versed at outlining, but I’m currently writing a trilogy. It’s hard to say what a good stopping point can be, basically I just picked one that I thought was good. Just really think about if you were reading the…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb Thanks, Daeus! Maybe in the future you should consider a sharing on Instagram option somehow. I don’t have any of the social medias but that one, and I know some other girls who are the same.

Welcome, @taaka-merespinner!
This place is the best place I’ve ever found on the confusing and sometimes dastardly world of the web. You will love it here, I promise!
So two questions, what are your three favorite authors, and do you like roller coasters?

Anne of Lothlorien replied to the topic My Giveaway in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 3 months ago
So, @daeus-lamb are they all paperback/hardback? No e-books? Cause that would be a real draw. I just prefer ‘real’ book to e-versions.
And the person that wins, do they have to email their home address to you? How do you claim the prize?
