@dekreel GOOD. Easter Eggs are BEST. Especially if they’re Aetherlight ones.

Aislinn Mollisong replied to the topic Various Outlining and Plotting Methods in the forum Plotting 7 years, 11 months ago
I don’t really outline, but I do have a general idea of what kind of direction the story is going before I write it. I fill in the middle as I go along, mostly by playing scenes in my head before I go to sleep.

Amber doesn’t have much of a backstory. Her life was boring and “perfect”, and only recently has she learned that there was a lot more going on than she thought, and a lot of it was kept from her because her foster mother didn’t want her to be the Ember-girl. As a result, she is hesitant to trust anyone and often tries to stay aloof and distant to…[Read more]

Aislinn Mollisong replied to the topic Strong Female Character in the forum Characters 7 years, 11 months ago
@theresa-play I have a few “strong female characters” as main characters. One thing that helped me was this article and part two of said article . My mom thought those were so good that she shared them on Facebook!
My girls are very good fighters, aren’t very girly in general, and seem like they would be stereotypical tomboys. But they’re not.…[Read more]

Aislinn Mollisong replied to the topic The Great POV Switch in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago
Because….it does. I don’t really know. But the story needs to be told by both of them. (And also, they fall in love, so their developing relationship is told by both of them as well…) I’ve thought about doing only Amber in 1st and Brendan in 3rd, but it really only works the way I have it going. I’m going to have the different POVs separated…[Read more]

I’m having a similar problem, except I’m switching up POVs within chapters.
And the whole thing’s in first-person. With both POVs.
It may get confusing. My question is, is it TOO confusing? I’ve thought about doing their different parts in different fonts, but that doesn’t seem like a good idea. I would do an every-other-chapter thing, with…[Read more]

Well, I’m basically a nerd about most things. (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Aetherlight, and many MANY books) so it follows that I am a Story Nerd, as those are all stories! (Logic. Maybe.)
Yes. Especially chocolate. *stuffs face* I didn’t draw my propic, but I found it on Pinterest and strangely enough it looks scarily like my real face… -

Aislinn Mollisong replied to the topic My character is blind. Is my story doomed? in the forum Characters 7 years, 12 months ago
In my second book, I’m going to have a blind MC named Brynn. But it’s kind of cheating because 1) She has wind powers and can “hear” what the wind “sees”, thus having a sort of Force-like effect. *shrugs* I’m working on it. And 2) She has a dragon that tells her what’s going on if she needs help.

Aislinn Mollisong replied to the topic Well-done dystopian novels…where can I find 'em? in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 12 months ago
I’m pretty sure the only dystopian book/series I’ve read is The Giver, and I really liked it. (I also mostly liked the sequels, but the first one is the best. And the least sad.)
