Ooh cool! Same, although I haven’t really written any fantasy yet… unless my speculative history novel kinda counts as that. 😉

Have you read ‘The Star Under The City’ by Maggie Joy? It is an awesome book I just got yesterday. I’m almost finished because I stayed up late yesterday to read and have read since I’ve been home. I love it, @annethestorynerdgirl!

Yay!! I love that you totally get the meaning of “story” nerd. 🙂 🙂
Agreed, especially chocolate. XD *wishes I had some right now*
Aw super! I like to draw, but my profile pic is just an image I found for free. I liked how it was whimsical, but the girl is a little too young looking to be me. lol Your pic looks more like me than my pic does…[Read more] -

Hello! 🙂
I gasped when I got this notification… I thought I was the only one who uses the term StoryNerd!! Aaah!!
So good to meet you, Aislinn! And hurrah for chocolate and Narnia and stories! Thanks so much for the welcome. 🙂 (I love your profile pic btw, do you draw?)-
Well, I’m basically a nerd about most things. (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Aetherlight, and many MANY books) so it follows that I am a Story Nerd, as those are all stories! (Logic. Maybe.)
Yes. Especially chocolate. *stuffs face* I didn’t draw my propic, but I found it on Pinterest and strangely enough it looks scarily like my real face…

Amazing amazing advice. Thank you!! I never thought of getting books on those subjects, and should definitely look into the different variations of Brit accents. All those seemingly little things will definitely help my London world automatically feel more real-life.
Yeah, really tough. I probably should have researched more before…[Read more]

Hi! I actually meant Historical Fiction… but no worries, I think I totally made that weird “HiFi” acronym up. 😉
Thanks bunches for your thoughts!! I have already been enjoying ‘exploring’ England through a mix of modern day articles as well as things from/about the 1940s.
Ooh woah, have you read my plot??!! jk That makes SO much…[Read more]

Yay! Thanks bunches for your thoughts!! (haha Totally understand about trying not to give spoilers, it get’s hard! Now I’m curious… XD)
Okay, cool! Yeah I’m hoping to have a sequel with those two as the main characters. Personally, I love it when there are clues and characters in the first book that are fleshed out in the…[Read more]

Hey guys!
In my novel there are basically two worlds that I have to build and make feel real– all at the same time.
It is HiFi so world #1 is London, 1940s. But it is also (sort of) speculative history, so the other ‘world’ consists of people who secretly live in London but have all their own culture and traditions and clans and things. My MC…[Read more]

Thank you! That’s really helpful. Glad it’s not a total writing no-no, but something I can work with as long as I do it well. 🙂

AnneTheStorynerdGirl replied to the topic What Genre do YOU Write? in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years ago
That sounds like a really cool genre to write in and definitely sadly empty of Christian books. My brother wrote a MilitaryFiction/Thriller novel because (of his message of course but also..) it is a genre people like to read but one where the world mostly produces really graphic, un-edifying things. So I totally get what you mean.…[Read more]

Okay, this probably a crazy question… but hear me out. 😉
In the climax of my novel I need three new side characters to show up just as backup and for fulfilling a story element. Two of them were introduced as mere bystanders a little bit earlier in the story and would also be the main characters of a possible sequel. None of the three new…[Read more]
