The current summary for my WIP is
*shuffles through fifty word docs*

A psychological thriller-fantasy about a spunky, isolated Wanderer getting entangled in a conspiracy to escape an underground world when all of society is determined to remain in darkness.
_OR_
A mercenary ranger fights to protect his accidentally acquired family before he can be thrown in jail for murder.
_OR_
With Diplopia is on the verge of apocalypse, Burn just wants to keep his status quo – roving through the villages, taking on mercenary odd-jobs and bounties only for his newest victim to loop him into her quest to find the fabled Lost City of Dragons, entrapping him in a government conspiracy and cult politics that threaten to rip apart his new found family, if not outright murder them.

Look, I’m literally writing three timelines in this novel. And those summaries were for one of them. 😰
I think I can handle two characters – if it gets too much, I’ll pull one out, or rotate who I’m updating.

Is your WIP a stand alone or a series?
As for my WIP, the working title is Lost City of Dragons – I tend to abbreviate it to tLCoD. Another working title is Brand of the Crypt – I hate the title though. 😑 It is SUPPOSED to be a standalone novel, but it’s also kinda a trilogy? I want it packaged as one volume, but at the moment it feels like it has three climaxes, so, I guess it’s a trilogy.
What graphic design tools do you use?
Once upon a time, when I had a desktop computer, I used Manga Art Studio… but it’s been a while since I’ve made art like that (since the start of my college journey actually – college killed too many things I loved doing). I miss doing it though.
I’m less interested in graphic design per se but I do want to learn it as a complement to the coding I do want to do. I have a bit of HTML (from Codecademy) and hope to start learning Python soon – ya’know, before my book is unusably outdated. 😔
Anyway, I want to make a video-game one day – I’ve got story ideas for it and looooove a good puzzler. But good gameplay in general is nice.
Hm. I haven’t really played some of my favorite video-games since college started either. I’m pretty much only on Elvenar now…

Uhhhh (squints over legit 50 word docs that are stops and starts and related stories that I discovered the hard way belonged in LCoD).
Wait. How the crap do I actually have 25,500 + words in a single doc on this?!!!! And it’s actually cohesive?! I … might have this actually better put together than I thought.
And I have another doc that’s 34,000 words… but some of those are rewritten scenes back to back. Does that count? 🤔
Anyway. There were enough replottings that needed to be done because I really want to give the readers time with other critical characters – because character-driven plots baby that’s why!
But a lot of what I’ve written is from Burn’s POV (it is legit the only 1st person POV that I’ve liked writing and thought was good.) And my first draft is really gonna be focused on that plot. I guesstimate it will be about 50,000 words when I finish. The gimmick is these are stories that Burn is telling the ghost of someone he cares about while he’s dying. (That’s legit the prologue.)
The other plotline is his friends trying to find out what happened to him when they got separated and how to save him plus … other things.
The THIRD plotline is about Grimme’s past.
I think that each plot thread will take about 50,000 words buuuuuuut I’m focused on character growth so if it takes more words, it takes more words. I’ll stick with what the story dictates.

Weeeeeeell there is a LOT that goes into video games. (Music production, character design, plotting, graphics, game-play itself, branding, marketing, coding…)
I want to do the online computer games like the flashplayer stuff @ragnarok plays. Ya’know. BEFORE unnamed companies did great evils to the online gaming world. ☹️ This seems more attainable, frankly, than say, Metoid Prime or Halo. Though perhaps something like “Mario and the Music Box” is doable. If I go with that though, I might enlist @this-is-not-an-alien for art. 🤷♀️

Pretty good, I’m at the end of my second semester now and my next semester’s more in-person. That’ll be a little crazy but we’ll figure it out!
I wanna room with one of my friends irl coz she and I both want our own place and she’s planning to find an apartment that’s in walking distance of my campus and I still don’t know how to drive, but Mom didn’t like the idea so I’m praying about it.
I actually don’t know her too well but that’s kinda exciting to me and she’s a family friend! Actually I can’t remember if I told you about her or if I told you one of the email drafts that got lost when my laptop got finicky, but she’s a girl I knew in Youth Group that I really hoped I’d see again because I wanted to know how she was doing now she seemed really lost and insecure when I met her.
But now I met her again and she seems a lot more confident I think and I’m so happy and I really really wanna get to know her better. It’s like I feel like I adopted her years and years ago, but I failed her because I didn’t pursue a friendship back then as much as I would now but it’s not like a guilty feeling it’s just like I randomly adopt people on sight, and I have to know that they’re doing ok, and I lost my human and I had to know she was doing ok XD. ❤️
I guess that’s how parents feel when we grow up and that’s a reason, they don’t wanna see us grow up and leave even if we’re nearby.
But…anyway… ❤️❤️❤️

I might be up for that. Could you give me the gist of what your outline looks like and what critiques you would want? I’m more of an outliner (chapter by chapter outline for instance), so if I give advice, it will be skewed that way. Besides, outlining is a very personal taste type of thing. But if you have a few specific things you want critique on, I think I can try to be of service. 🙂
