Heyy folks, I know it’s the middle of the week, but I forgot to do this earlier so…anyway! Does anyone have goals for this week/next week?

I’m going to be sorting through the feedback I got from an editor on one of my…[Read more]

@theswordinthebook

I’m sorry that I hadn’t gotten around to reading this until now. Like you, life happens to me a lot. 🙂 A few things before I make a fool out of myself:

I’m not an expert at critiquing so I need practise for this as much as for my writing craft.
I do, however, read extensively and have finished certain major projects along…

It’s tiiiiime for another guild war!

This one is running from Monday 19th – Monday 2nd (of September) and the prompt is “write a story in which two cultures clash.”

Let’s brainstorm away, guys! HERE is the link to the doc for when someone wants to write a draft too. 😊

Also if anyone wants to take a little more leadership/responsibility in…[Read more]

Hello Meerkats!

As most of you know, keeping up with all the guildmaster things can be a big challenge for me. (One that I’m not doing very well at at the moment. 🙈) So I was wondering if any of you wanted to take on some responsibilities in the guild!

This is the basic idea:

If several people are interested, there’s a few places you can pick…[Read more]

Hi, Lucius! I enjoyed your story! I also have a few suggestions:

-you could try using less common similes (e.g. instead of “she smoked like a chimney” you could say something like “she smoked like a campfire”). You could also replace similes in those situations with more actions and imagery, like: “She too…[Read more]

So apparently there’s a prompt war happening right now.

But I somehow missed the message Daeus sent the guildmaster group and didn’t realise until now.

Hello yes I am apparently a scatterbrain.

Long story short: prompt war is happening between July 15 – 29, the prompt is to write a mystery.

BUT since I so skillfully missed this altogether,…[Read more]

Okay guys. I know I’ve been pretty terrible about being around much, but it’s awesome that you’ve come up with some ideas! The beauty in a pencil is a cool concept.

Have we got any volunteers to write a draft? Because the story needs to be in by Sunday.
