@taylorclogston

This is so true. Thank you for replying…even if you aren’t a novice. (are you????)

The truths you stated above are ones that I know in my head…but my heart doesn’t really believe them…if you know what I mean. 😀 I think my biggest problem is that I want to be an amazing writer RIGHT NOW and obviously that’s not going to…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Phew! This is my first writing project, so I am a little clueless right now. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. 😉

@kate Basically, everything goes back to the source. And when the source is a solid, theological view instead of science, one can take a magic system much further. (though, to be fair, Sanderson’s magic and religion makes much more sense when you realize he’s Mormon and study that to some degree, like @josiah said.)

@karthmin Sanderson wrote out…[Read more]

This was a fascinating discussion to read through. Thanks for the tag (or at least the attempted tag, @kate! 😉

The philosophy behind Sanderson’s works is really interesting. When asked once about how his Mormon faith influences his writing, he once responded that one of the main ways was through his understanding of deity. Since he believes that…[Read more]

@taylorclogston That is how I feel about Nano everytime it comes up. Hopefully I as well can finish this year.

@taylorclogston Ooh, nifty! Gave your system a look. Reminds me of the game Chaos Reborn. I’ve gotta ask though; were you planning on adding powers/magic based off of order itself rather than just the elements, like say enforcing a vow of truth as a police interrogation specialist?

I’ve always wanted to do something like have characters draw…[Read more]

@parker Yup! 😀

@taylorclogston  Hmm… I believe it is $30 per month and… I honestly can’t remember. 😀 Maybe $300 or something? It is less if you pay for the whole year. And totally worth it!

On the subject of video games, have any of you ever played a Wii one called Super Paper Mario? My eldest sister got it a few years ago, and we all still love it so much. The thing is, have you ever played any Mario games? Let’s take a generic look at them: Bowser wants Peach. Bowser ki…[Read more]

So I’ve now got the actual tagging list from Jess. Apparently the one I’d found on a random recent topic wasn’t the right one and I ended up tagging some old guildlings and whoops, my bad. 😛

Anywho–great job to all those who’ve been putting effort into this! I’m going through and sorting through a lot of the comments at the moment, but it’s…[Read more]

Welcome @jade @kaladinstormblessed @taylorclogston !

And writers are always the best DnD players- if the GM can make the antagonists personal, then you’re probably in for a good time.

EDIT: Yes, you have heard of Fate Core. I’ve always wanted to play a game of that, but it feels like it needs more to scratch that Tactics itch. GURPs involved…[Read more]
