The shadowy entity continued to lurk at the edge of Jericho’s senses, hiding in the dark recesses of the dim room. It was a large chamber, circular, and with a ceiling somewhere far above in the darkness. There were no entrances or exits other than the one Malvat had just made, and the only light came from the fire of Brendin and Alessio as w…[Read more]

Yeah, souls are really important to the stories involving Haven. And Brendin has a very long, complicated and messy character arc involving trying to reconcile his past as a mære under Ingor with who he was before and who he is now (which he really is not at all sure of). I as the author find it kinda heartbreaking to see him go…[Read more]

Hey, would anyone mind if I swapped out Þorunn for someone else? She seems to have worn out her welcome and Chantara tried to kill her, so…
As for who I want to bring in, I have a few ideas:
Casurus, a side-character hero who wears an eyepatch but not because he’s blind
Acantha, an empress who seems either benevolent or evil depending on how y…[Read more] -

I guess you posted that while I was typing…sorry.
So in Haven (the nation/world Brendin is from) every human generally has a soul, which is formed of several components; personality, memories, spark (the part that gives you life), etc. When someone suffers mental or emotional trauma (like Alessio’s C-PTSD), this…[Read more]

I never took an official class, but my sister was very interested in ASL at one point in time so I learned a fair bit (I can sign Jesus Loves Me) but not enough to be conversational. Most of the time she and I use it to talk across a room when we don’t want to gain attention or have other people understand. If I’m painfully b…[Read more]

By now, with all the anomalies the castle had thrown at them, Jericho and Brendin were barely surprised when a newcomer entered the room.
Jericho smiled at Alessio in approval as he took charge of the situation. Brendin meanwhile quickly got out of the bed and summoned a small flame in his palm. He hoped he needn’t use his syne now; the fire w…[Read more]

“I’m going on ahead,” He says in hardly a voice at all, “if anyone wants to join me.”
“Wait,” Jericho called, catching his hand. “Do not go out alone. Please. Wait a moment more.”
She strode back to where Alessio and Nithel had placed Brendin on the bed with Alessio’s wrist still firmly in her grasp. “You misunderstand,” she mur…[Read more]

As things escalated dangerously (and potentially lethally) between Chantara and Þorunn, Karayan bolted across the room and hauled Chantara off of the shieldmaiden. He swiftly got between the two angry, injured women.
“Now wait a moment,” Karayan hissed, his tone unusually harsh. “This is insane. If any of us are to survive this castle we sho…[Read more] -

Apologies for the absence…
“No,” Jericho said as Alessio volunteered to sacrifice himself. “No, wait a moment.”
Brendin had sat down on the floor with his back against one of the beds. “Jericho,” he said softly in Kithin. “There is a way we can do this without losing anyone.”
She turned to him, startled. “You speak as one of the Eya…[Read more]

Hey, sorry for the prolonged absence. The laptop I’d been using to write on here wasn’t mine, and I couldn’t get my own one for a while after I returned it. I didn’t use my phone because I have trouble typing on it, and my typewriter doesn’t get an internet connection 🙂 .

Hey all, sorry for the absence. Kinda no longer had a computer and just got a new one yesterday.
Þorunn sensed a presence behind her, felt the faint breath at the back of her neck. She was prepared when a hand clamped over her mouth and a knife came to her throat.
Immediately Þorunn grabbed the arm wielding the dagger and jerked it away fro…[Read more] -

Sorry for the disappearance, I was lacking a computer to use and my typewriter doesn’t have internet access.
“I am from the world of Epoch, does that mean anything to you?”
Nadia shook her head. “No, it does not. And to you, do Kitharin or the Natrada mean anything to you? Those are the lands my people are from.”

The Winter Soldier but he has fire magic and loses the arm after he loses his brainwashing.
Alternatively, the mute girl befriends just about everyone.
Different story: the Skywalker Saga, but in medieval era Indo-Arabia and Yoda is a dragon.

I wasn’t planning on doing that, I just meant the spelling was somewhat important to the meaning.
Also the castle has been somewhat dormant the past few days…y’all doing alright?

Thanks for critiquing! I probably won’t be able to return the favor – the semester is wrapping up and my teachers saw fit to drown me in projects – but I’ll reply to some of your annotations.
